anybody who applied to architecture...

...good luck.

My gf got word from admissions that applications increased.

They have 900 applications for 60 spots in the freshmen class. Ouch!!!

I dont know how many were accepted ED, but the acceptance rate should be in the single digits this year for architecture.

cheers! :)

wow theres only 60 spots? i thought it was more...

wow! 900 applicants! that's insanely high..are you sure this statistic is correct?

i feel lucky

yeah, that's for RD, ED is much much easier.

I guess the key to getting in is to do decent at the summer program and be a URM (or, have a brilliant portfolio ... my gf had to rely on that).

is your gf's portfolio online?? I am curious because I think you mentioned that the aadcom thought it was one of the best the best they've seen~

no, it is not. Last time I knew, admissions had a copy of it to show prospective students what a sample portfolio looked like.

It had around 15 or so samples of work, i forget the exact number. Only one or two were actually architecture related, the rest were mostly art samples of all sorts.

last year about 400 students applied RD for architecture. i find an increase of 500 applicants hard to believe...

last year there was 800 total
and 700 the year before

this is info given from admissions to a current student dirrectly.

this might clear it up a little. in comparison to last year- that is insane. jsut check this out:

http://dpb.cornell.edu/irp/pdf/FactBook/Admissions/Undergraduate/Freshmen/aap.pdf

keep in mind these stats above deal with not only architecture but also art and planning. overall, 65 students are admitted into the architecture program...makes it about 40% of all of the entering students into the AAP program.

which also makes it even more nerve wracking for those applying to either...

crap, this is depressing

it is.
i'm waiting for the 30th to come.
