Anyone accepted and going?

Has anyone looked up their professors on ratemyprofessors.com yet? I looked up mine and they seemed to be rated pretty good.

Where do you check who your professors are?

On access plus, go to class schedule and it should list them somewhere

Did everyone remember that they can now purchase their parking permits?

Did anyone else order books during orientation?
I can’t recall when you can pick them up.
I was hoping to pick them up Sunday, Aug 23rd just before fall classes start.
Son is not attending Destination Iowa.
I guess having them shipped is another option?

ehhhh i would suggest attending destination ISU I am pretty sure if you order anything it is there as soon as you get there but only for the kids who did DISU

You can pick them up from friday to sunday the 23rd. Also, your son will get an confirmation e-mail that says when this info and can reply to the e-mail with any questions you have.

Thanks for the info, mm99.

Yea, I think DISU is a good idea, but son has been there all summer in a research program, and is quite acclimated to campus life already. He only gets 2 weeks off before class starts in the fall.

I’m only going for the free stuff

Are any of you renting a Microfridge? Or are you buying them?

yea, I bought one off craigslist for $35. Son says it works great.
He will rent the loft kit though.

Best of luck new ISU students!
Hope you like your new digs.

Son moved in today and will attend destination Iowa.
Tip for those moving in. Be sure to arrive early to avoid the long lines.

I moved-in yesterday. Today I have a job interview…

Hey, how is everyone liking freshmen year?

getting bored><…
trying to make some new friends…

I am fortunate enough to have made some random friends in about every class I have. Good luck making friends!

“getting bored><…
trying to make some new friends…”

Get involved in clubs and activities that suite your interests. Lots of opportunities at ISU.

I got accepted with a full tuition offer, so we’ll see how it goes.

Superrandmness- it will be great! Just get involved in something. And check ratemyprofessors.com, or ask current students about some professors if you have a choice.

What was the one thing that was the tipping point in favor of attending ISU? DD is thrilled to be accepted and has a nice scholarship offer. She likes everything about Iowa State, but has yet to commit. Give me some reasons to bring to the deliberation.
