No news yet here in CT, unless there’s something sitting in the mailbox that we will find later today. The wait is definitely a turnoff, as is the CSS profile they require for financial aid.

Still no word here in CT. We’ve kind of lost interest now. Applied early Oct. and with such a long wait for a decision, plus the CSS profile required for financial aid, we’re turned off.

D received a big envelope in mail today from Stonehill :). I’m assuming it’s an acceptance lol. Can’t wait until she gets home now. Barb, did your mail come today yet? We are in CT also, in Hartford area, so you should have received something today, but maybe tomorrow.

S also received big envelope today. Need at least $10k in merit aid or the school won’t be competitive with other choices…hopefully they will come through.

Yes, I hope so too geeps. The good news is that they recently announced they upped their merit (and I think financial) aid by 50%, so there is a good chance!

well, the good news is my S was accepted, bad news is no mention of merit aid. Without merit aid, Stonehill is not an option as we don’t qualify for need based aid. Many other schools offered merit aid.

I assume merit aid comes with acceptance?

Same here geeps, accepted no mention of merit. Looking at the last couple of years acceptance threads, some aid came with acceptances others came later (not sure why). We’ll have to wait a bit and see what happens or you can call and see what they say. The funny thing is D also got 2 other acceptances today, around the same caliber as Stonehill and both offered presidential scholarships.

westie,

I received e-mail from Stonehill answering a question I had last week and it stated that EA decisions along with merit awards for those who qualify would be sent out this past Monday. Doesn’t look good. Fairfield offered a $10k merit ward, UVM $11k…Stonehill is not an option without merit aid, disappointed.

Edit: It looks like My S and your D applied to many of the same schools with similar results…UVM, both got Presidential, both deferred from NEU and now both accepted to Stonehill will no merit…
S is now leaning towards UVM…how about you?

I noticed that too geeps, I have seen you in other threads I have been in. D is not leaning to any one school at this point, she has a few more to hear back from. She was also deferred from Providence (big disappointment) and accepted today from Siena and Drew both with scholarships. I think I will have D send an email to Stonehill asking about the merit and if they will reconsider, especially since they upped it this year. She is also very interested in UVM like your son, but wouldn’t say leaning. Her friend attends there and tells her how much she loves it. What I don’t like about it is the 5 hour drive one way, no easy way to get there and back.

STILL NOTHING HERE IN NY UGHHHH!!! getting a little frustrated now…
it has to be here tomorrow or i’m calling the school l0l

Nothing in our mailbox yet either…

same here in NY! i had expected to hear today but nothing… hopefully tomorrow?

w/ Presidential scholarship - still don’t know if we’ll be able to afford it (with 3 in school next year). Hoping financial aid will be good.

really good essay on being an identical twin

homeschooled - I wondering if this is a plus - with schools that have had good experiences with homeschooled students, is it considered a type of diversity? I’ve been very surprised with the merit aid he has been offered
