getting the money is making me consider tulane a lot more seriously. im applying to alot of top schools (some ivies, and what not), but theres tulane keeps becoming more and more appealing to me!

anyone out there know tulanes reputation in the job market?? im going in for business. Does tulane usually produce a lot of succesfful graduates, comparable to other top schools???

when did u send in your app?

i got in +24k and honors program

I'm waiting on mine!!! Ah, how long did it take from the time all your stuff was in? And stats??? pleasee

nott longgg actually..the website said my status was complete like early october (the 7th?) then they they notifiied me online a week laterr that i was acceptedd.. but i finally go my letter and scholaship/honors program information in the mail on the 20th. good luckk everyone!!

ifnownotwhen..aree applying anywhere else? or do u think uull go to tulane?

emp- it said all my stuff was in on a tuesday and the following monday i got in. the letter came about two weeks later in the mail

eri- i have no idea if i'm applying anywhere else. there's no one school i really fell in love with so i'm contemplating calling it quits and chilling for the rest of the year. but honestly i really don't know what i'm gonna do

did you have to fill out a CSS profile, or is that not needed for a merit-based award?

noo u dont need to fill out anything special for the merit based scholarships..its completely based off ur application.

All of my material was in on Monday and I was accepted on Wednesday. Who knows when my letter will show up, though.

OMG it only took two days for you? If all of my stuff was in on monday....does this mean I should be...worried???

I found out online that I was accepted two days ago, and I got the official letter today (I live an hour and a half away from N.O., so that's probably why it came so quickly).
I applied using the Personal App, and got 24k & an honors invite.

No, I don't think you need to be worried, Emp. I sent my stuff in in early September, but I got an email last Thursday saying that they didn't have my counselor's recommendation (it must have been lost in the mail or swallowed up in a black hole or something). So she called Tulane and faxed my information--I'm thinking that probably has something to do with the quick turn around.

Oh woohaa. Thanks for the clarification. I was very nervous for a bit : ). Congrats though!!

is tulane anyones like number one choice? who here that got accepted is for sure going?

Tulane processes the applications internally in alphabetical order. Everything gets sorted by alphabetic, and the admission team deals with all of one letter (last name) before they move onto the next. Right now they are finishing "C" so if you are a "D" you will hear soon, if you are an "A" last name well it will be a couple of weeks. They get to the end of the alphabet and start again at the beginning. Regarding the business school, my son is in second year, heard a hedge fund manager speak yesterday and will listen to Tommy Hilfiger (yes THE Tommy) speak about building his empire today. Typically only 50 students attend these things so it's quite an intimate environment. Last week 25 business students flew to Omaha and met with Warren Buffett.

Wow thats so neat about your son! So, seeing as my last name begins with a "P", does this mean i'm going to have quite a while to wait :/

Give yourself 10-20 days. The admission counselors at Tulane are exceptionally accessible, have you considered calling and introducing yourself and checking the status of your application? It really helps to to put a face to your statistics.

I sent in my application october 12th and just got my acceptance letter a few minutes ago! I also got the 24K.

congratulations! Did you get a letter or see it online?

Our daughter heard about a two weeks after applying. Online first then the letter came today. It also included the $24K... anyone know what % of accepted students get the $24K offer? Sounds like a lot here...
