If you are... reply :) Where are you from, where do you go to school, etc..

Uhm... i'm from Denmark, so i don't exacly meet your criteria... I visited norway a couple of times though...

Just thought it was cool to see a fellow scandinavian here since there doesn't seem to be a lot of us around.

Are you going to be studying in the states next year, and if so where?

yeah me kinda. I lived in stavanger for 15 years, born in trondheim. Moved out to korea 2 years back.

Hi CallTheCops and Supergeniet (I liked your name ;) )

I'm going to the states to study business on the east coast. Where are you located, and for how long will you be there? Earning your whole degree 'over there', or are you an exchange student ? And, how old are you?

Callthecops, how come you left? I was born in Stavanger, by the way :)

I'll probably be taking all my bachelor at Yale. enrolled as a four-year degree seeking student atleast. I'm 19 by the way.

Do you know which institution you will be studying at, or are you still scouting the market?

I won't be far away, then; Will enroll as a freshman at Fairfield University, Connecticut. What will you study ? I didn't have the grades to go to Yale, unfortunately. How did you do on your SAT? I'm 19 as well.

I got 630 verbal and 640 math which is of course not nearly enough to get a normal person into Yale. So i cheated! hehe... no, actually they wanted to recruit me for their rowing team, and besides that i had decent grades and that sort of stuff.

I'm actually not really sure what i will be studying yet... maybe political science, international relations or something along that line. have also considered sociology and psychology and that sort of things.

Kult. Hvor i Danmark er du fra, egentlig? F

Jeg er fra Bagsv

i left cuz my dad got a job...tax free unlike in norway where the tax is 40%!! :p dying to get back for vac. Sometimes I wish there was a HYPSM equivalent in good ol' Norge...wouldnt have thought twice about leaving.

jeg kan snakke norsk...but iv been outta touch for the past two years :( still remember some stuff though. Im 16, and im a senior by the way, and a Princeton, Cornell, Dartmouth rejectee :p. probably taking a year off and applying again.

I think I'll stick to English, then, after reading a few warnings.. Anyhow..

Callthecops, only 16 and a senior? Good for you.. When i was 16, i was a senior at my lower secondary school, and had to go three more years at my upper secondary school... And yeah, the taxes in Norway are sick.

Supergeniet, I read in a post you made somewhere about your SAT score, and it made me regret not applying to Yale. Althouh i didn't score as high as you did, i could have had time to retake the test prior to the application deadline.. Oh well, there's always the oppourtunity to transfer as a junior. Do you think they'll still look at me as a Norwegian, with the benefits that provide, although i've been in college for two years?

And, the nordic club was for people within the Yale community :( I'll start my own, then... With me as the only member.. :)

As long as you've got Norwegian citizenship i'm pretty sure they'll consider you an international. afterall, you did grow up in norway didn't you?

And the nordic club is for members AND FRIENDS of the Yale Community. I've been told by a danish guy i know, already at Yale, that there are members who don't go to Yale. locals, friends and family of Yale students and just about anyone with an interest for nordic culture. Even heard a couple of NY residents should have membership.

I'm 19 and still living in Norway, so you might say i grew up here.. :) I like Denmark more, though. Copenhagen has a much warmer atmosphere to it than Oslo, and the people (or so i've heard, i can't really remember) tend to be friendlier.. I'll think about the nordic club, then.. I won't have a car in Fairfield, or at least not the first year, so we'll see how well I'll manage to get around. How far is New Haven? Only an hour away, right ?

You're right, copenhagen does have a nice atmosphere, but i REALLY envy you the norwegian highlands. Denmark is so freakin flat! I went to norway last summer to hike and do some riverrafting in the mountains, and it was awesome. then i returned around new year to go skiing, and that is really something we miss in denmark - a good place to ski. it was such an incredible trip!

I don't really know where Fairfield is, so i can't tell you how far it is from new haven. Heck, i hardly even know precisely where new haven is, i only visited once, being picked up in NY and dropped off in NH - not the best way to learn the geografy of a region.

Checked with mapquest, it's about 24 miles and it takes a rough half hour to get there.. Man, i miss the metric system already!

And yeah, we get a lot of Danes skiing up here:) They are the highlight of the day when we're out skiing.. So fun to look at them ;)

Hehe... yes we might look a bit funny when skiing - okay totaly ridiculous then... but at least we have fun doing it! so it's all good, we have a lot of fun looking silly with those long pieces of wood attached to our feet, and you guys have fun watching us - and we're all happy!

skiing in norway is darn fun...ever been to Trysil? GREAT slopes there...

Haven't been there, but then again i don't ski that much. I just watch the Danes.. I go snowboarding, though, but haven't been out in the slopes that much the past years..

Haven't been there either. Was in Beitostölen this winter which was a decent place. especially since we did a lot of cross country skiing as well which Beitostölen is perfect for. It was my first time alpine skiing so it was probably good that it wasn't the most deadly slopes.

Beitostølen is really a cocky place for the snobby people... Other than that, it's awesome, of course..
