Hey everyone. I applied to this program and am anxiously awaiting their decision (april 7th!). I was just wondering if anybody else on this board applied?

I did! I probably won't be accepted because I'm only a rising junior, but I'm still hopeful! April 7th!

April 7th. Phooey. They said "the first week of April", so I have been checking my e-mail nonstop since April 1st! Good luck to you guys - I'm really excited, but at the same time I don't want to get too attached and be really sad if I don't get in...

Has anyone received an email yet?

My daughter has been accepted into Northwestern's "Cherubs" summer theater program and the Experimental Theater Workshop at NYU Tisch for this upcoming 08 summer. She is so torn as the programs both sound quite wonderful. Any thoughts on strengths, differences, artistic focus of each program (there is a huge price difference!)?

Haven't heard yet...

I didn't apply to a performing arts program but I got accepted into the film program today. I got the e-mail at about two this afternoon.

Rejected from CAP21 summer program, but I did get accepted to CMU's summer program, and I'm only a sophomore so I'll deal. =)

I was rejected today. :(
Oh well. I'd feel a lot worse if it was an audition that I didn't get into.

My S was accepted but is debating whether he should focus on dance for the summer at Joffrey or The Rock, or do MT at Tisch CAP21.

kardan - it think this partially depends on what your S plans to pursue in college, a dance major (then Joffrey would be a logical way to spend his summer), or musical theatre (in this case both options would certainly be beneficial). Just know that he will also take ballet classes at Tisch CAP21, but chances are there will be no voice training at Joffrey :D. Ultimately it is personal preference.

i found out i'm on the waitlist for cap21 and will find out by april 30th whether or not i can go =/ i'm a little disappointed but didn't really expect to get in because my gpa is crap, but hopefully i will still be able to go!! congrats to your son kardan!!! does anybody know how many people usually get placed on the waitlist and how many spots, if any, open up? also if you know of anyone who was accepted but isn't going, pleaseeeee let me know haha =]

People do get off the wait list because some choose another summer program. I had a student get off the wait list last year on May 16. She didn't end up taking the offer as she had already enrolled at Northwestern Cherubs. So, hang in as it could happen to you in May too.

S decided to split his time doing ballet intensive for three weeks and then going to cap21. Maybe these two intensives side by side will help point him in one direction or the other.

Epoknee27 - hope you get a spot.

Anyone going to Cap21's Pre-College MT Program have any suggestions on housing. I know this is late looking for housing. Any information would be helpful. (Program starts July 1st)

momsonfaith - this is the thread for the summer program that includes housing (the CAP program through NYU), you may want to post on the CAP21 pre-summer program thread; I bet someone could help :). It is some threads down on this forum, here is the link:

AH!! i got in =] =] =] im so excited.

I got in but can't go! Hope you get the slot!

Does anyone know if for juniors, they count first semester grades with as much weight as they do for freshman and sophomore grades? I ask this because if my first semester junior year grades are counted, my GPA is raised significantly. Thanks!

I'm sure they count! Make sure they went in with your application and if not, send an updated transcript.
