Has anyone applied to the school of nursing? I feel like I haven't come across anyone this year that has applied to the school of nursing. It'd be nice to share when/if we get in. If there is and you've been accepted, could you tell me your stats and when you applied? So nerve-wracking :(

I applied, and there’s about a dozen others who have also applied from what I see around social media and from my school, none of them have had their acceptance yet. I believe Nursing is one of the longer ones that we have to wait before our admission status is revealed to us. Try not to stress too much, but I should probably take my own advice.!!

So it’s a relatively small number? Is that indicative of the program itself at school (smaller program at the school)? I hope you get in!!! And maybe we could end up seeing each other around school lol. And by longer…do you think around mid-late February or March? I’m so impatient it’s really terrible

I believe it’s about a 17% acceptance rate in past years, and if you get in you’re automatically into upper division nursing as well, so basically you remain in nursing throughout until you get your BSN, and I have no idea about how long, it definitely should come out before March. Previous applicants told me they got their decision Early January when they applied mid-November

Did you apply to nursing @sarahisdabest at UT? And wow, that’s awesome!!! How is it going? I say now that I want to go into nursing, but I don’t know if I’ll love it when I actually start.

I got into Baylor’s nursing program if that’s any indicator

Are you auto admit into UT? In addition acceptance into baylor’s nursing is not the same as into nursing school tiself, as you would still have to apply again for upper division. The difference with UT is if you are accepted into nursing you automatically get accepted into upper division as well which makes it harder to get in. However you do have health related EC which admissions look highly upon as well.,

I applied and I haven’t been accepted yet. I called a ut office and was told all decisions will have been made by March 2015. I hope mine is made before then because I don’t know how much longer I can wait lol. Good luck to everyone!

Olivesam, I suggest retaking your SAT and attempt to get a higher score. From what I’ve heard, getting into UT nursing as a freshman is much harder than it was 2 years ago as students are now being admitted to the “nursing” major and not the “pre-nursing” major. The average SAT score of the previous incoming nursing class was 1850, which includes the scores of auto-admits. Although it’s not posted, average SAT scores of non auto-admits tend to be around 50 to 100 points higher. Having a 1500 SAT is actually the minimum score needed on the SAT for auto-admits, so it is actually a pretty low score.
