Anyone applying Regular Decision?

Did you apply RD? I’m surprised you found out already!

I found out because I applied for the Blackwell Scholars Program.

Shaq395, I’m sorry you were disappointed. $17,000 is not an insignificant scholarship, but I can understand you were looking for a full ride. The Blackwell Scholarship is very, very competitive as it should be, for such a generous offer, but I’m sure it’s no reflection on who you are as a student. Good luck in finding a college that suits you!

Has anyone gotten any decision yet for RD? Good luck everyone! It will probably take me a little longer to find out since I live in Georgia. It takes me a week just to get mail from Massachusetts. I can’t imagine how long it would take if I lived in Alaska, lol.

Hey everyone I got my decision today and I got wait-listed. Last year 165 seniors got wait-listed, 7 got off the wait-list. And you don’t get FA if you get off the wait-list. It’s totally fine. I’m obviously not going to accept it! Good luck everyone! :)

I got wait listed also. I think Hobart wait lists kids that fit within the Middle range of their SAT/GPA acceptances-if you are asking for financial aid. I know five kids in the same boat and other kids (who don’t need financial aid) with the same GPA/SAT/ACT scores have been accepted from my school. Clue- if you want to go to Hobart don’t ask for fin aid.

I had a feeling that may have been why I was wait-listed too. I need a lot of financial aid. It sucked today because Holy Cross wait-listed me too!

If you need financial aid, you need to ask for it. It is bad advice to suggest that someone not ask for aid, if they are going to need it. Without financial aide, if you can’t afford the school, an acceptance is the same thing as a rejection.

Our daughter heard back last Saturday and was accepted. She is in the very middle of ACT/SAT scores and GPA. We did apply for financial aid because you “never know” even though we figured we would not qualify. Aside from the usual loans, they offered her a work study. Good luck.

Good luck to those waitlisted. You will find a school that’s the right fit and you will flourish. This part of the college application process is a real roller coaster, but everything will work out.

Congratulations to your daughter, ehlle1. It sounds like you’re satisfied with her financial aid. If you have any questions about HWS, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Has HWS released all its decisions or are there still any left?

Oh, my goodness! Yes, HWS should have contacted you by now! Please call the admissions office right away and let us know what happened.
