Anyone care to chance me?

Hi all, I'm a Junior and hoping to be a Longhorn when I apply to Texas this fall!
I want to be either an International Relations major or Psychology major.

STATS:

SAT: 2090 composite, 780 CR, 600 M, 720 W
UW GPA: 3.3
W GPA: 3.9

ACT: Haven't taken it yet, taking it in June.

Class Rank: There are 20 people in my class so we don't rank.

Junior year schedule: AP Chem, AP Bio, AP US History, AP English III, Algebra 2
Senior year schedule: AP Enviro, AP Government, AP Economics, AP Psychology, AP English IV, AP Spanish V

APs: All pending since I haven't taken them yet, but I'm pretty confident I'll score well.

ECs (although I don't know how much UT really cares about them):
President of Rugby Club sophomore, junior and upcoming senior year
NHS Vice President upcoming senior year
Model UN all four years, Captain/Head delegate junior and senior year
Debate sophomore, juunior and upcoming senior year
Student council program director
Intern at a law firm
Cheerleading sophomore, junior and upcoming senior year, Cheer captain senior year

Reccomendations: Two GLOWING reccomendations, one from my AP Chem/math teacher and one from my APUSH teacher
Essays: I have an idea of what I want to write mine about, writing is most definitely my strong point so I have no worries about it.

Hooks:
Black female, I guess?

Thanks! :)

I think you do have a chance … but I’m pretty new at this…

apply! I don’t think you have anything to lose… (well, the app fee hehe)

good luck!

Thank you! I’m new at this too, I honestly have NO idea what my chances are with UT  I see people with average SAT scores getting in that aren’t in the top 8%, so it gives me hope, then I see people with astronomical SAT scores that are still not getting in! It’s so confusing to me.

actually I got in with a 1790 (not so good), 3.6 uw gpa… BUT I’m an international student, top student of my bachelor department, and had great recommendation letters and good essays…

I guess that they need to know how devoted you are and that it doesn’t matter as much if you have good grades, but if you are a match … probably

Sounds like you should get in.

im pretty sure you will get in

You’ll get in! Don’t sweat it :P
