Anyone contacted by Footlocker--Do something more scholarship

Just wondered if anyone received a skype interview request from the Footlocker scholarship? I believe they should have held interviews by now. My daughter applied for this one but did not get a call so I assume she didn't make it that far. Best of luck to anyone who did...

i didnt get contacted either

I’ve been wondering as well…

I don’t see any updates on their webpage. I have been private messaged by one mom who’s son had been skype interviewed this past week. She gave no details as to his standings or the interview but I was glad to hear something was moving along. Guess we wait to see. I really didn’t hold out a lot of hope for the larger national scholarships like this but we hope DD receives a few smaller ones if nothing else. Good luck to everyone.

Incase anyone is interested–I sent an email (this morning) to Footlocker regarding the scholarship. Below is the response I received from someone named Wendy. Maybe there is still hope? Not certain though…

“We are still reviewing applicants at this point. We’ll be notifying all applicants with the results in mid to late March.*
Thanks,
Wendy”

Thank you for posting that information. They originally said that semifinalists would be notified in February, so I don’t hold out much hope for my DD who has not been contacted yet.

I know that they selected finalists for the Footlocker Scholarship. Did they contact any of those finalists later on after the scholarship on whether they won or not?

Nope I did not hear anything. I assume I am out.

Has anyone heard anything yet? Has anyone been contacted for a skype interview as a finalist, and if so, have you heard anything?

I was contacted back in February for the Skype interview. They will be releasing the results on April 17th. There were far more applicants than anticipated, so they pushed back the dates for everything. I’m sorry you didn’t get asked for an interview :(

OK, this is strange…my son was not contacted for an interview, but today he received an email stating he could be one of the finalists. Is that even possible? Did anyone else get an email like this today?

Yes I received the same email. This is the 1st email I have gotten from them. I think they just want likes on facebook.

I bet you’re right, engineerisme.

What do you mean? I’m pretty sure they’ve already released the results to the finalists…What else did the email say?

sorry but theyve already informed the 20 winners. a friend of mine already got notified and we are psyched for her.

If in fact the winners were notified some time ago, then shame on the organizer for how it’s been handled – talk about misleading and self-serving – they should have had the decency of notifying all the fine applicants who did not make it when the decisions were made instead of perpetuating false hope!

The gist of the email:

A $20,000 SCHOLARSHIP COULD BE YOURS!

Fingers crossed? – I don’t think so!

They haven’t officially informed my friend yet but she was interviewed back in February.

confusedper:

Now I’m confused – from your previous post:

"sorry but theyve already informed the 20 winners. a friend of mine already got notified and we are psyched for her. "

I guess the “official” part comes when everyone else goes on facebook and twitter to generate hits. Not that it matters – I believe they notified the winners, chose not to let the rest of the applicant pool know they were out of the running, and the email is what it is – formulate your own opinion.

I absolutely will not go to their web page and like them. In fact I may never shop at a Footlocker again. They have nothing that I can not buy elsewhere and I refuse to shop at stores with bad ethics.

The story is footlocker accidentially released results on their web site the week of April 2nd and then took down the site to correct this. Unfortunatley many applicants including finalists saw the results. This entire situation was very unprofessional and disappointing to many. The post about “fingers crossed” is just ridiculous after this happenend. The fact that finalists were required to send pictures after the interview was also misleading. A new procedure is certainly in need.
