anyone do bad on practice tests but good on the real thing?

Bad as in we're talking 200-300 points lower than what was scored on the real thing...

many many people.

Personally, I was scoring 680 on the writing section but on the real thing I got a 770.

Did you do well on the real thing, or do good? Watch the grammar even in informal communications. It is easier to speak correctly when your brain is used to writing correctly!

I never took the SAT, but the ACT...

The PLAN test said I'd get like 13-17 on the ACT. I took the real ACT just over a year later and got a 32.
How misleading.

Also, just to give you hope, some of the practice test that I took were actually significantly harder than the real thing. Which brand of practice book are you using?

Son is currently prepping for the March SAT. So far his practice scores are coming in lower than his PSAT equivalents. WTH? It's a relief to read these success stories.

my october SAT scores were the following:

760 CR, 690 M, 800 W, 11 E

the practice test i took the night before (legit collegeboard test)

600 CR, 740 M, 700 W

so i was pleasantly surprised when i saw my scores for october lol

i got 720, 670 on the World History practice tests and 760 for the real thing
770 and 750 on the Bio practice tests and 790 for the real thing

ehhh, not really a success story, but just doing a little better than expected, 21 on pre ACt or PLAN and a 28 on the ACT for a duel enrollment course not offered as AP at my high school.

I havn't taken the SAT yet but my PSAT was lower than expected. It makes me feel a little better to hear you guys say that they are not that equal!
