Anyone doing an Engineering major + a Music minor?

I want to major in biomedical engineering and minor in musical studies. However, I think it's actually pretty hard to do both since the classes just don't fit in my schedule. (The minor has 26 units....though there is quite a lot of 2 or 3 unit classes, it still doesn't fit in the schedule for BME)

Thus, I want to know if anyone here has been successfully doing these two major/minor at the same time?

i’m personally not doing it, but a girl in my hall just entered the music minor and she’s also an engineering major. however, she might be electrical engineering instead of biomedical, and i know that biomed is one of the hardest engineering majors. so maybe she can fit it in because she has slightly fewer units for her major. are you a student here already? if so, you should just ask your advisor! :]

My son is considering doing this (electrical engineering major + music minor). It is very difficult to fit everything in; he will probably need to take some summer classes to do it. But if it’s something you really want to do, there’s a way to make it happen.

FYI electrical is probably the hardest engineering major.

How does Biomedical rate among the engineering majors?

Well, lots of people drop out of it, but it starts with a ton of people as well so who knows? What I’ve heard is that it’s hard for people who have the normal engineering problem solving mindset of “apply equation x to data y to get solution z, then interpret it” because a lot of the biology is just straight memorization.
