Anyone doing the IB?? *sob*

I'm in 11th grade doing the IB diploma and I really need help in deciding where to apply for univ. IB grades are not calculated into GPA , so I have no idea about what level/rank I'm in and stuff.. our school doesn't rank either. Being in the IB drives me insane, but what can I do... I'm just looking forward to next year when I'll be over it. Anyone familiar with the IB that can help me out?

Academics;
predicted IB score ; 40~42 out of 45 (counting TOK/Extended Essay)
IB score of 1st semester; 39/42
Class size; 64 (yea I know- really small)

SATI: Writing 700, Math 670, Reading 650
I'm taking SATI again in June and probably next october (for RD)

Taking SAT II tomorro! (math 1, literature, math 2)

TOEFL ibt: took then last week, i'm guessing 110~115

Extracurriculars;
Debate Club, School newspaper editor in chief 2years, Golf, MUN, school senate, yearbook 2years, Shakespeare drama production, cello in the church orchestra 3years, worked in the local bank during the summer 2years, organized Student Leadership Summit 2 years... for CAS so far I have about 200 hours.

Ahhhh this looks like nothing now that I type it up. but seriously I have no idea about how much colleges/universities look at the IB scores, and how the weigh it and stuff. My reach schools that I'm interested in applying to are NYU, Duke, Amherst and others are Lehigh, Elon, Franklin Marshell, USC and yeah. Am I aiming too high, with respect to my stats??

Advice, everyone T_T the counselor at my school tells me I have a chance, but by the tone of her voice I have a feeling she's not too sure as well. Seriously, is NYU too high for me??

I think you stand a shot an NYU, but why are you taking math 1 and 2? There is no point for that. Might wanna get some extra leadership positions.

ib predicted scores of about 39-40 excluding bonus points should give you a fairly good chance. although there's no direct way to compare the gpas vs ib scores, you can count on many us elite schools to be very familiar with the ib full diploma program. they are well aware of the strengths of ib full diploma program giving students breadth and depth, particularly in terms of anlytical thinking skills all ib students must learn to develop over the 2-yr program.

so don't worry about this. your sat I is a bit low in math and you need to make it above 700 at least to apply to elites. writing is okay and it's not that serious compared to math and critical reading (which you should try to make it around 700). if you can achieve sat combined score of about 2,100 together with 39-40 ib scores (not counting bonus points), you should be fine.
