I had this dream today. I got home from school and in the mail was an acceptance letter to Princeton. I hadn't applied, though. I was so relieved, nonetheless. For some reason my grandma was there and said "You're going to have a lot of fun."

All of a sudden in the next scene I was in my 5th grade class, but as a high schooler. Then some girl came in screaming, followed by the principal of my middle school. The principal said "Who ripped her face off!"

Then I woke up. I was sad, I didn't actually get into Princeton.

I'm not trolling, just want to know weird experiences you may have had.

I dreamed about Princeton last night, actually. I was at orientation with two friends. It was basically like being at an amusement park. There were games, rides, a pool; all sorts of stuff minus anything informative. We took a tour of the campus and we were discussing our rooms and roommates and then I woke up relieved because everything was so ugly and gloomy. lol

i dreamed i got into yale about february when still waiting for decisions. then i didn’t get into yale. but i got into princeton so i was happy.

you will find that many alumni from Princeton stil have dreams, even decades after graduating. Mostly, however, the dreams deal with not finding a class and being late to the class. In my case it is my Linear Algebra calss at 185 Nassau building.

I had a dream last year where I was walking through Princeton’s campus (I visited the school almost 10 years ago so this was pretty late haha). Needless to say, I was also disappointed when I woke up. Princeton’s campus is absolutely gorgeous!!! haha :D

Me too! But mine mostly revolve around the team (I’m an athlete here, don’t hate), the facility, and the coach. Though while at Princeton - and actually any time I’m awake - I can vividly see myself walking around, going back to a dorm, eating, etc.

If you didn’t actually go to Princeton you’d dream about it. The campus just seems like a fairy tale. All the cobblestones and such. Sure beats my state school.

The campus looks very pretty. But like all great architecture, its aesthetic value diminishes quickly after a few days. I thought I’d love going to school at Princeton because I was blown away by the architecture and academics, but it’s only something you’d appreciate if you first visit the campus or live for a few days. Spending an entire four years there, however, is absolutely dreadful.

A month into Princeton and you’ll soon realize that not only is the architecture not mindblowing, but Princeton’s lack of proximity to a city makes it the most boring place on earth. New Jersey is absolutely dreadful, the food sucks, everything in Princeton is overpriced, and all parties is restricted to the Eating Clubs (rather than going to off campus clubs like in Hollywood, LA or in New York if you went to Columbia). Trust me on this one…there’s a reason why New Jersey is called the Armpit of America.

I keep having dreams having to do with Princeton every night now. Yesterday my dream was about some sort of application assessment where hundreds of kids went to Princeton and we all went to some big room. There were instruments. We all had to pick one and play it.

Anyway, what you guys say really calms me. If Princeton has some downsides to it, and you guys hate it, then it makes me feel not as bad or worried about getting in.

I’m guessing that Fermat is just having a bad day. I hope things get better for him. See his comment in the following post which is more typical for him and for Princeton students in general.

Pton, yep, by reading Fermat’s past posts it seems that he was a hard core Princeton student. The one thing that he always complained about, however, was the social life.

My advice to students - enjoy the social life ON CAMPUS, including the Eating Club parties - you will have plenty of time when you work in a big city to hit the club and bar scene, particularly the students that move to NYC and Los Angeles.
