Im not sure whether to choose UB now that I'll be in the honors college or if I should choose Binghamton where I'm not in honors

whats your major? Both are good schools.

In the future I’d like to double major in business and international relations. Right now I’m accepted in Bing’s SOM and for Buffalo international studies.

not me`````

Yeah I got into honors.

Personally I would go with bing. Business is their thing, while Buffalo is better for science and engineering. And I don’t think honors is really that big of a deal.

I got into the honors program as well. I also got in Binghamton. Being in an honors college puts you at an advantage (early registration for classes, special housing, etc.), but you should go to whichever college you think suits you better.

I’m in the Honors college at UB now and I’m also a Business major. They make the Honors college sound really good and early registration is nice, but it is also a lot of work as well. You have to take this colloquium class which is really just a waste of time and takes a lot of work as well (for a 2 credit class) and mandatory community service for your first semester. And although that is a good experience, it is also time consuming esp. when you are trying to adjust to college. I have heard good things about Bing’s SoM, not that I can vouch for it personally. I have heard that the SoM at UB is pretty good, but I’m still a freshman so I haven’t taken any actual business classes really, just pre-reqs. And UB is really good for engineering and sciences I agree. So basically Honors doesn’t really mean that much, it just sounds really nice and it forces you to get at least a 3.3 Gpa your first year and 3.5 gpa every year after and you have honors requirements. It’s a lot of work, but you do get some more unique experiences. But wherever you pick, good luck!
