Rejected from: Duke, Cornell, Stanford, Columbia, Brown… all in one day. I was kinda expecting it but it still is depressing. If I didn’t have northwestern I would probably kill myself.
That said so stoked to be a wildcat next year

almost got rejected to every ivy except cornell.

willing to trade cornell to get off of northwestern wl…
also willing to trade u of chicago for northwestern wl lol.

azndark:
Post your trade here!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1114570-if-you-could-trade-yoru-acceptance-waitlist-spot.html

(And apologies for the typo in the thred title, lol)

rejected from Penn ED, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth.

I’m okay with it though since I got into Vassar… which is still a great school (had my favorite campus lol).

anyway guys, the way I see it, with so many qualified kids like us getting pushed into great non-Ivy’s and good LACs, we’re MAKING their history. by the time we leave, they’ll have even better reputations. i mean, admission rates are dropping everywhere as it is. forget the rejections, and focus on making an impact wherever we go.

No-rejected at Cornell and Columbia

Applied to HYP, Columbia, and Penn. Didn’t get into any save for a waitlist at Columbia, but I’m happy to call myself a Cal Golden Bear now. :)

Applied to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, and Dartmouth, and was rejected by them all. Oh, and also by Stanford. Stats was in their range. (SAT 2360, GPA 3.96) International student who applied for full aid.

Only accepted EA by University of Chicago; Accept/Reject ratio is 1/7.

Though this doesn’t matter anymore, I can’t help but wonder if I was on the Ivy League’s blacklist.

Rejected: harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell
Accepted: UPenn

I completely understand the Dartmouth rejection because I didn’t follow up after my interviewer failed to reply to my email, but I don’t really understand the Cornell rejection… I thought UPenn is harder to get into than Cornell?

^It’s all so random when you get into that tier of schools. Just be happy with your Penn acceptance :)

Rejected from Yale and Princeton, and waitlisted at Dartmouth. I’m probably going to go to Berkeley unless I get in off the waitlist at Dartmouth/Duke/Rice. It kind of sucks right now, but everything’s going to be okay.

Wellesley was the first foreshock, Stanford was the second one with a significantly higher magnitude, Ivies was the earthquake, followed by Williams aftershock. Now what? Waiting for the final wave of aftershock on Friday. Stats were definitely not bad but apparently they meant nothing.

ahh, the confidence of youth. Nice to have a healthy self esteem :)

Rejected by Columbia, Duke and Cornell.

I’m going to Marquette Honors but it still hurt. Knew Columbia was a reach but ya gotta try sometimes.

Ivies were SO hard to get into this year. I got rejected from all of mine, but I expected it.

Friends with 2330s and 2320s on their SATs and all types of AP, honors and ECs got rejected from every single ivy they applied to as well. Weird stuff this year

This year was tough

Last year this was me. Don’t worry too much. You might not be able to wow pretentious dinner party snobs, but the quality of education that you will get at a slightly lower-ranked institution will be indistinguishable. Your opportunities in terms of internships during college may also be slightly handicapped, but at the end of the day, it’s about what’s in your noggin.

rejected at cornell, duke, yale, princeton, harvard, dartmouth, bowdoin, JHU, colby

into vanderbilt and davidson (plus safeties, and bates)

waitlisted at notre dame

honestly, not a biggg deal to me, while i woulda loved to get into an ivy or duke, if i have a problem with vanderbilt or davidson i can always transfer up to an ivy quite easily from there.

Rejected from all of them.

<---- Attending.

tjb111- The admit rate of transfers for Ivies is even lower than regular admissions. For Harvard this year the transfer rate was just over 2%. Do not count on an easy transfer.

i heard its not that hard for someone to transfer from a top 20 to an ivy-level school with a 3.7+ gpa

im not saying harvard, but yeah. …

if not vanderbilt is still great for premed

If you’re going for pre-med Vandy is great! Good internship possibilities right in the city, and a better chance to make a high GPA for med schools. There are a lot of disappointed Ivy pre-meds suffering from mediocre GPAs, wishing they had gone to state flagships and nabbed 3.9 and 4.0s.
