I don’t think any california community college’s use +/- grading.

There are a couple of them that do. I’m in Club Cal and our leader listed the CCCs that use +/- grading. There were like 4 or 5 of them… I sure am glad I didn’t go to those CCCs! If you’re an A student, +/- grading is really annoying… But if you’re a B student, B+'s really rock. haha

so is an A+ a 4.3? I never understood completely

^I wish.

93%+ = 4.0.
90-93% = 3.7
87-89.99% = 3.3

lol yeah that’s how my school was Calitrumpet.

It really sucks. It’s like 900 times harder to get all A’s! A lot of times people who say they have a 4.0 really mean they have somewhere in between a 3.7 and a 4.0 with no B’s or B+'s.

i go to de anza and the grading as +/- but the scale is at the teacher’s discretion…i have a class where i need 95% to get an A, she has already stated a 94.9% = A- :[ no extra credit or anything either to compensate…

So we have to send our current transcripts to the financial aid office?

Yes
Mail Transcripts to:

UCLA Financial Aid Office
A-129 Murphy Hall
Box 951435
Los Angeles, CA 90095-1435
Attn: Regents Scholarship Process

It has to be in the office, not postmarked, by March 25th.

Got it. Thanks! I’m gonna go mail that right now.

mikei im a 1 year transfer though so my 4.0 is from 22 units from the fall semester maybe thats why i did not get it less coursework thats my only guess, ill keep checking the next couple days

@DCSPORTSFAN,

That’s interesting. I am a two year transfer and my first year was spent at a private 4-year institution. However, I am considered a CCC transfer because my last 30+ units were taken at SMC. Maybe they need to manually look over our applications because our applications aren’t as “clean cut” as the others who have posted on this thread?

i guess so, because i didn’t get the berkeley one either

I have a 4.0 and 60 units from a regular two year transfer at a california community college, and I haven’t heard from Berkeley either.

got the ucla one with the equivalent of just 27 units…

I got Regents last year through UCLA and was rejected. Haven’t seen anything in the mail this time around.

What was your final gpa/major and did you miss a pre-req class?

Also, when I was invited, I did not a 4.0.

My major was Biz Econ, all pre-reqs were completed or in progress. I was going to be leaving for Marines and I was completing my CC education in 1 year.

Currently, I’m already completed with everything to transfer but took Calc 3 in Fall and am taking Linear Algebra/Dif Equations this Spring.

My sister got it for UCLA 3 years ago and she had a 3.98 or so.

How much is this scholarship worth anymore anyways? They’re basically taking my sister’s away next year (it doesn’t matter because she’s graduating early). It seems like the California system doesn’t have enough money to guarantee the Regents scholarship for all 4 years.

Another interesting note, my letter last year was dated for February 24th.

I got this letter a couple of days ago, too. I was surprised! The due date is at the end of March, if I remember correctly. It’s right around the corner—admission decisions will be available soon, too!
