Anyone else have their enrollment deposit waived?

I looked on my account, and my enrollment deposit is waived, so all I have to do is submit forms- no $ deposit.

Any ideas on why this happened/has it happened to anyone else?

They do this if you’re a low-income student. So that’s why it happened. It’s a nice gesture to increase yield for low-income students who perhaps otherwise couldn’t afford the deposit. That’s not saying that you can’t, but it’s just a little extra perk for your hard work.

OMG - where how???

^^^^ I used an application fee waiver. I think that was it.

do you think if I call the admissions office and ask for information on how to get it waived, it will seem annoying? I need all the aid I can get…

I got mine waived but I didn’t use a fee waiver.

How do you know its waived? I submitted a fee waiver and god knows i need to save all the money I can.

It’s on the responding to the offer page on the accepted students page (the one you logged into the see your decision)

How could they waive the deposit without a fee waiver request? They have to have some evidence that you’re in need of a helping hand.

I assume it was from the CSS profile/Chicago financial aid application.

dang, but im a qb finalist… i need money… arghhh im just gonna call them and inquire o.O

i called, but they gave me nothing. They said if I would have gotten it waived, I would have gotten a letter. So I guess that means I didn’t. They told me to contact my counselor, and I did, he didn’t tell me much. He said try the Aid Office, that didn’t work, they told me to call the Admissions office. X(

I wish I could have my BU enrollment deposit somehow waived. It would be a miracle if I could

Does anyone know how they can get their enrollment deposit waived. I am pretty low income and I used a fee waiver but my deposit is not waived.
Update: I just called the office of admission and they said if it was supposed to be waived it would indicate so on my online account. So now what do I do?
