Anyone else have this status?

Hey guys anyone else have or had this status?

Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1.

Anyone who had this status and got in?

Thanks.

I’ve had that for over a month now…

I haven’t received my decision yet, but I remember reading someone’s post, that they’ve had the same status all throughout the admission process and got in.

i unfortunately have the same status…most people seem to have forwarded.

^ehh, I wouldn’t say “most ppl.” Probably less than half.

most posts i’ve read seem to have people posting they have forwarded. but i do hope you’re right about less than half!

why would you want less people to have it? what the most people have is probably the rejection status since more then half get rejected…

that’s another way of looking at it i suppose, lol. at this point it’s all speculation… we just need to wait for the actual letter.

which hopefully was mailed out today

hopefully! i live in socal so if they did send mine out i should be getting it tomorrow or the next day?

Letters are mailed out this early? I did not know that. Hopefully I get something.

okay, so i know the whole status thing is basically random… but i stilll cant help but try and make some sense of it while we’re waiting

“forwarded for review” vs. “being reviewed” - any insight to what it would mean if you have either at this point?

Mine says that my application has been received and is being reviewed but a couple of days ago it was fowarded. no idea what it means but from looking at last year’s thread lots of people who’s status changed or updated around march 11 were accepted so i really hope it’s the same this year!!

This is the only application status that my son has ever had. Is there a more specific place to check status? Is this pretty typical of the status that others have??

Application Status:

The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

Your application has been forwarded for committee review.

^^ Cavmom - could you please list some of his stats? I’m in the same predicament that he’s in. Thank you.

i have a theory-
some people have never had a status change and got in, whereas it seems like most people have gotten the “forwarded” status at one point or another. our applications go to our region admission counselor. they decide between three things- accepted right away, rejected right away, or needs further consideration. my theory is that those who have “forwarded” went to the admissions committee as a whole so that the committee can decide together whether or not we should be accepted or not, maybe by vote or something.

it’s just a thought. i’m “forwarded” right now, too.

tdawsn8, I think your theory is correct.

I have zero chance to get in, unless my essay moves them emotionally and they can see that I would be a great contribution to the student population. My stats are MUCH lower than everyone else’s. I have been on “Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1,” since the beginning and it has never changed. My taxes/parents taxes are still listed as pending, even though they have had them forever. I think Financial Aid knows that I won’t be admitted, so they have no reason to spend the time reviewing the taxes.

That is just my theory, putting the two stalemates together I think spells rejection for me. That’s ok though, I just wanted to try.

Having said that, don’t think because you are stuck on being reviewed that you won’t get in because I think tdawsn8’s theory about being a slam dunk and not needing a review could also keep it at that level.

I wish you all a lot of luck in whatever school you attend.

Financial aid has no idea whether you will be admitted, and they review documents as they come in. It took more than two weeks for USC to show that they had even received our documents, and have still not reviewed them.

Because you applied, you automatically have more than a “0” chance. USC reads all applications. You haven’t stated your “stats,” but based on your statements I will assume they are in the bottom 25%. I have no idea what your chances are, but I will point out that 25% of accepted students are, in fact, in the bottom 25% of accepted students. (I know this is obvious, but many “chancers” forget this obvious fact!)

Good luck tornados!

alamemom-- Thank you for the encouraging words. Interesting about the financial aid. I will set that theory aside then.

I am probably in the bottom 1%, I will PM my stats to you just for drill.

To jamesbball

Sure…Let’s see if I can remember:
SAT: 2050
ACT:33
SAT II: Math 2:710, BioE: 710, Physics 720
AP Physics:4
WGPA: 3.955
Currently in 3 APs, National Honor Society, Debate, tons of community service hours.

In looking at the published stats for the current freshman profile, he should have a good chance…however, as we all know, the numbers don’t tell it all. So, I guess we have to wait and see…and hope!!

My son’s status has not changed and still says “forwarded.” I wonder if they forgot about him. Oh well, he’ll end up somewhere. UCSD is looking good! UCSD keeps sending info about their engineering program, internships, teams being sent abroad and a lot of other interesting and fascinating aspects their engineering department offers. Que Sera, Sera …
