On October 9th, I submitted my supplement and two days later I submitted my payment. Since then, I have not recieved a confirmation email for recieving the supplement. I just called up Michigan's admissions office and they said they have not recieved my supplement and to contact Commonapp support. I just emailed commonapp support. This poses a problem as on Commonapp it says I submitted it, and thus can make no changes to it. Yet if they have not recieved it, and I can't edit/resubmit it. Can commonapp fix this and how long will it take or am i screwed?

I was just accepted for the winter term, and my supplement on common app still only says “complete”, while application says “downloaded.” They had the supplement though.

Do you have a WA account yet? If so, look to see if there is any information they could have only obtained from the supplement. That’s how I was sure they actually had it even though it only showed up as “complete” and not “downloaded.”

If there really is an issue with Common app., they should be pretty quick in responding. If it were me, and there was an error on their end, I would be on the phone and refuse to hang up until the issue was resolved.

Still I think the focus for admissions is on winter transfers right now, so verify that there really is an issue. It could be that they are still processing your info., as there is a record number of applicants. Check WA as I said for info. they could only have gotten for the supplement…i.e., if they list the school to which you are applying it means they have your supplement.

my problem is that i called up the admissions office and they never recieved my supplement. i havent even recieved any info about setting up my wolvering access. how long does this info take to come. i submitted the supplement on the 9th and paid on the 11th. the lady on the phone said all she had was my sat score…

Did you submit the common application itself? As in completed(and submit), both the general app and the supplement?

no just the supplement. do both have to be in?

if it’s you get the WA info after submitting the commonapp, i’m going to feel pretty stupid… i was under the impression you got it after just submitting one part of the app

You have to submit the general application first. That is the main application, they won’t get your supplement without it. It is the heart of your application as it contains grades, schools, essays, etc… Submit that and you should get a confirmation email within hours, if not minutes. UMich will send you an email with your Wolverine Access account as soon as they process it, which could take up to 10 days (got mine in 2).

But for sure, you HAVE to submit the main app before they will get any of your information. Good Luck!

To comment on what abrknight said, it probably takes UM a bit longer to process the information now since we’re slowly getting closer to the due date. I wouldn’t freak out yet, but I’d just call U of M and see what you can do.

If you live in Michigan (remotely close to A2) I’d call and ask if you could just drop by and bring in a paper copy. Although unconventional, I’m sure they’d accept it if there’s no way they can/will receive your stuff on time. But, call commonapp first, and then once you get a straight answer from them call UM Admissions. They’ve been helpful with regards to my application.

Best of luck.
