Hi everyone,
My son is applying to a bunch of programs. I’m trying to use the IU system, OneStart, to check on his University admission. Is anyone else having trouble with this system? The instructions on the IU website for checking admission simply don’t line up with what’s on the OneStart screen! I have to say, we really like IU, but their computer system is the worst of all the schools to which my son is applying!

Also, has anyone heard back on the pre-audition decisions? My son did get an email saying they were still reviewing the material. His application did meet the November 5 deadline for early feedback on this first hurdle.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

I heard they’ll inform us of their decision by the end of the week!

They emailed us and said prescreen decisions would be made in “late fall,” so I’m assuming it will be by the end of next week, latest. I haven’t tried using the OneStart system, but I can give it a try and let you know. We have found them to be extremely responsive via email!

monkey13 - you’re right. The IU staff has really been great about emailing. I did just get an email that they’ll be letting everyone know about their prescreening status between Dec 12 and Dec 20th…

The OneStart system is supposed to show you your application status with the University (not the MT program) if you follow these instructions: [Check Your Admission Status: Office of Admissions: Indiana University Bloomington](<a href=“Freshman Applicants: How to Apply: Office of Admissions: Indiana University Bloomington”>Freshman Applicants: How to Apply: Office of Admissions: Indiana University Bloomington)
My S has a OneStart account but the instructions send you to links that don’t appear when we log in… I’d be interested in others’ experiences with OneStart…

The problem seems to be that they give you a 10 digit ID number, but the site only accepts 9 numbers. I tried removing the 0 at the beginning, but it still doesn’t work. Hmmmm…

I called and figured out the problem w OneStart. You actually end up setting up 2and accounts on the system. The first account is a “guest” account, used solely for the purpose of requesting a “student” account. To get to the admissions data, you must log on that student account. If, like me, you had already set up the "student"account account but forgot the user name, you will need the student ID number emailed to you by IU. To add to the confusion, this is a different number than the application ID. Simple, isn’t it? The IT help desk was super, though, so they can walk you through the process. If you are a parent calling, have your student handy as they will only give out existing but lost info to the student.

Thanks, fourkorz. They’re probably shut down for the holiday now. Does the online info contain their prescreen results?

Hi monkey13! I don’t believe the OneStart system will have any info on the prescreen results, but can’t be sure.
