When Does IU Start Making Admissions Decisions

Based upon last year's experience, can anyone tell me when IU will begin to start the rolling admissions decisions? What was the earliest someone got a decision last year?

On their website they say review of applications begin on September 15th. I know by early October people were notified last year.

perhaps next week, we will start to see some notifications.

IUB still says they don't have record of my son's transcript, counselor form, or test scores. Never mind that the test scores were sent last Jan (SAT), Feb (ACT) and again in June (SAT II and another SAT). Why exactly don't they know about them?

The other items were delivered on Tuesday, according to the post office. We'll give them another week to match everything up before son calls.

I expect that after they log everything in, it will be 2-3 weeks.

Does anyone else check online to see if their admissions items have been received? If so, have they?

Yah I know my transcripts have to be there, but when I log on it just says thanks for submitting the application, and don't forget to send the counselor signature, etc.

Do they ever update that site?

when my son logs in it says under status

"You have successfully submitted your application. Please refer back to this page periodically to check your status."

not sure if this means they have everything in addition to the application.

My son was accepted 2 or 3 days ago. He applied August 21st. He found out online.

robinm

congrats to you and your son! that's awesome. your the first that I know of that has heard. My son applied in august as well, but no word yet.

is IU one of his top cgoices? where else did he apply?

Now my son's online status says to contact the office of admissions regarding his status.

Too bad we saw that on Friday after 5 p.m. Bloomington time.

Robin- congrats to your son!

oregonianmom

could be they just are missing something from his file or they have a question

Guess we'll find out Monday morning. My son is going to call first thing.

Congrats as well Robin for your son!! Does Indiana also mail an official acceptance letter/package?? Son applied early this month but we haven't checked his "status" online.

We did not receive a packet from IU yet, we only saw the acceptance online. When it comes I will post.

IU definitely sends a big packet in snail mail - last year, it took a couple of weeks after the online acceptance.

I found out that I was accepted online Friday. When I called the admissions office they said that I should receive my packet in about two weeks. So yeah you arent going to receive your packet for a little while.

My admissions status is the same as the one nycollegedad has.

"You have successfully submitted your application. Please refer back to this page periodically to check your status."

It tells me no information, just this. I emailed the admissions people at IU and they told me that I had all my info in. Yet does this page ever get updated?? It been like this for over 3 weeks.

it's still October, it might take up to months before you get your decision. When the decision is made it will update the page. Last year i applied on march 1st and i got my decision in April something.

jayjohnson43 - I called IU today, because my page says the same thing as yours. I told them I sent my stuff about 2 weeks ago, and they said my admission status should be updated in about 2 more weeks. It will change to awaiting decision or something like that.

does the "on line status page" reflect the admissions decision before you get something in the mail? or do they mail you the decision prior to posting the on line decision?

The first place it appears is online, followed by a letter in a large envelope w/in around 10 days, and finally a large welcome packet.
