Anyone Else Having Problems with Providence Post Office?

I have sent my son 3 packages over the last 4 months (all large Priority Mail Flat rate boxes). I follow the tracking, seeing that they arrive in Providence, then are “out for delivery” - but they never make it to campus. Instead, somehow they are are sent back to me, with no explanation, no “return to sender” and nothing apparently wrong. Each time I have tried to report this they tell me the address was my home address (it was not, and I have photos to prove it. The return address is a tiny peel of return sticker). The tracking says “arrived at Providence Distribution Center” Then “in process of sorting” then "out for delivery, with an end of day expected delivery time. Then at the end of the day “arrived at Distribution Center” again, and it’s on its way back to me. This only began happening since June. Have been sending packages to Brown for the last 3 years with no problem till now. Just sent him a package UPS with no problem. Just USPS.

What address are you sending to? If it’s 69 Brown St, I would assume you should contact Brown mail services about this.

Yes. My package to D sent Priority Mail, correctly addressed to 69 Brown St with her mail #, went missing in September. Tracked to Providence but could not be located. Eight weeks later it was delivered to campus mail room. No damage, no explanation, and everything intact. One week later received notice from USPS that package could not be located and my tracking inquiry was closed! Really strange; never had a problem before.

Hmmm. Well at least I know it’s not just me. Yes, they were all addressed to 69 Brown St., plus his box #. I have checked with the mail room, but since they never apparently made it there they never have a record of them. It seems it is some kind of digital tracking problem. As if they scan it to be delivered, it is out for delivery, then somehow it gets rescanned to be delivered to my home address (which is on the other side of the country by the way so cookies I sent for Thanksgiving had a long journey). I have even called the USPS # and remained on hold the 40 min. They look them up and argue with me that I addressed them to my home address from the beginning - that is apparently what they see on their computer tracking. So now, I am taking screen shots of every step along the way. Am waiting for this last package to see what happens to it. It supposedly has been sorted but so far not delivered, is in Providence somewhere. I sent this one as an envelope with signature required to see if that makes a difference. Very frustrating. This will be the last time I use USPS if it gets returned.
