Anyone else having trouble getting into walmart scholarship...

I click on the link to scholarship administrators and I can't get in. It's been down for the past two days.

Maybe the site is busy, since it's near the due date.
I tried to get in, but couldn't..

it jsut takes a REALLY long time to load

Jeez! I forgot to start it and the deadline's tomorrow...oh well, guess I'll just have to suffer through the long load times because I doubt anyone else from the schools around here "represented" by the local Wal-Mart even KNOW about it...so more possibilities for me to win.

Not only is it really slow, the application is littered with a lot of bugs. I can't finish it because I get an error message saying that they are secure and non-secure items on this site, and I say yes I want to display the non-secure items and then i get to a screen that says 'page unable to display' and I have to start over. If I say no, then I can't proceed either. This application is a royal pain in the ass, and I really think Walmart should have chose a better provider than scholarship administrators. All I need is two more steps and it would be nice if I could go back to the place I was at before I left off, but instead I have to go through every section once again with the long load times included.

Oh well, looks like I'll be missing the deadline, and it was all because of the great folks at Scholarship Administrators!

Yeah...I got to the final page and it told me I had to submit a whole bunch more stuff by snail mail with a postmark of today...screw that.

I finally made it to the end and I discover that I need to send a lot more crap to them by today. Screw it, its not worth it.

That was how I felt at the first page, unfortunately lol

i got discouraged when i realized that part of their rules was "people planning to do work-study sessions in 2005-2006 forfeit their eligibility." I didn't catch it earlier, and i had everything done, too. >=O

I'm sorry about that, simplyxme. yeah, I wish the application was easier to access so we could see the whole thing (especially the part about sending stuff) all at once, like by downloading a pdf version or something. Unless, there was and i was not aware of it

I mailed it in, but a day late. I'm hoping for the best...

"people planning to do work-study sessions in 2005-2006 forfeit their eligibility."

What?! Oh great. And I sent in my application and everything. What is the prize, like $1000? Add me to the list of people that think this was completely not worth it.

Well, in Walmarts defense, the application WAS hella easy AND they've opted to grant lots of little scholarships instead of a handful of large ones. I'm just happy because my applications wasn't marked as late!

The application wasn't easy, though. There were a ton of problems with the online portion, and I'm willing to bet that many people didn't even make it to the last step, where you mail other things in.

For me, I filled it out online, and put 1-5 for rank (because I don't know), and the site computed it as 15. It was my duty to catch it, and I messed up, and once you submit it it will never change, even if you change it, so I felt very frustrated. After that, the PDF file that is supposed to display what you need to send in wouldn't load for me no matter what I did, and I just wasn't in the mood for Walmart's antics.

I guess it's worth mentioning here how much I hate Walmart in theory and practice.

I timed out each time and never got in

My son did his about a week ago, and had no problems at all
