Anyone else having troubles setting up spire?

I tried to set up a spire account using the instructions on my acceptance notice. I can get to the point where they email me an activation code, but whenever I enter the code, it says ‘Login information does not match our records. Please try again.’

I have tried again for multiple days, and with every new code, I get that same error message. I always try to activate the account within the 30 minute time period from when I receive the activation code. I have emailed UMass’s IT department, but they have not responded.

Has anyone else been having this problem?

We haven’t tried it yet, but I am also wondering:
Is registering for SPIRE necessary or useful before a student decides to enroll at UMass? The offer letter merely says, “To activate your university IT account…” I am wondering if it is just for UMass students, maybe not for prospects.

It is only necessary if you decide to enroll, however, I activated my account and that is where you pay the enrollment fee. I would activate my account so that you know that if you decide to go, you can pay the fee by the May 1st deadline.

I just want a spire so that I can see my financial aid award. It says I need an account to see it. I still haven’t been able to get in. When I enter my net ID to get an activation code. Then I put the activation code on on the activation page and it comes up with that error message. I’m going to call them tonight
