Anyone else in here who's getting ZERO financial aid?

<p>I have an EFC of $24,000 so financial aid is out of the question. I'm only offered a $5500 unsubsidized loan- anyone know if I could borrow more? I was under the impression I could borrow up to the total cost. (I'm trying to steer clear of the private lenders) Housing is all me, but tuition is billed to the bank of mom and dad. :)</p>

<p>well stafford loans are capped (im assuming you are a junior) the rest is through Parents PLUS loans...UCLA didn't offer you that?</p>

<p>and it looks like the UC system ****s itself once again. i use to go to uci before transferring to USC, and its cheaper for me to attend USC than it was to attend uci.</p>

<p>Yes, I, or rather my parents were offered the PLUS loans, but they've already said they're only paying for tuition..which means I need to borrow more than the cap. </p>

<p>On a side note, does anyone have a link to that alcohol edu thing? Is it too late to do that? I just returned home from a 2 month-long trip and am trying to figure out what needs to be done first. </p>

-tried to plan my classes but will have to wait until orientation to sign up (21st)
...and that's about it. I know I need to go to UCLA to take some sort of debt test; I realize I'm quite behind on these things. What has everyone else been doing so far?</p>

<p>Thanks, Emmeline! I sent an email to alcoholedu, hopefully I can still take it. I also took both the Stafford and Perkins tests, even though I only qualify for Stafford. -_-</p>

<p>There's nothing wrong with accepting them. Once you do, they send you a bunch of papers. Unless you complete those, you won't get the loans.</p>
