Anyone else unpleasantly surprised at their FA?

I knew BC was expensive, but sheesh. They gave me a full 15k less than their NPC suggested (not that those things are entirely accurate, but still). It was always going to be a stretch, but I think it’s entirely impossible at this point. Has anyone successfully appealed their offer or asked to match one from a different school?

My D got nothing. Other schools estimated family contribution to be around 15k and gave us 25-40k. Called FA counselor. Will see how it goes.

My D got $20k BC Scholarship, some subsidized loan and fed work study. Called her FA Advisor and he didn’t indicate any appeal was possible. We were hoping for more aid to make it work. Not my D first choice, were hoping for good things to come tomorrow!

@DadinConn - if you don’t mind me asking, what is your financial status? I’m trying to guess what I am going to be offered, because my ability to attend BC is based solely upon what I get in financial aid. If you would rather not say, that’s fine.

…

They gave me nothing. Every other school gave me at least 25k.

I simply cannot attend at this point. I have just been accepted to a (much) higher ranked school but BC stood out because of the Carroll program. Waiting to hear back regarding this unpleasantness.
