Okay I've got like a week b4 I leave and I'm pumped but also at the same time I'm kinda sad that all my friends are leaving and heading there separate ways. Does anyone feel the same way?

Psh, heck no as most of my friends are going to Michigan. I move in Saturday morning, and I'm too excited!

not that excited since i'm a soph...idk, with the 4 month summer, it seems like i've forgotten about college or it was all a dream, since it just goes by so quickly

I'm excited!! I leave Monday night to get there early a day for last minute stuff. I'm from Wisconsin. I know no one going to Michigan besides people I've met over the internet or at orientation. I was so tired of the clicks at our school, I wanted to make all new friends by going someplace no one else was going.

I LOVED my class at school...we went through a lot through the last 13-18 years... I know lots of (or some, or a few) people loved their school, but mine really, truly was strong, united, and unique in this wonderful way.

Nearly everyone but a handful of people left for / started school more than a week ago, for some, nearly and month ago, which makes me horribly lonely...I've come to the realization that the place I loved is no longer there anymore, all in one place, which is sad...and sometimes I wish I stayed closer to home to be closer to the people around me, but that'd be the easy way out, wouldn't it?

So it's hard for me to leave, but there isn't much to stay for. Honestly, it's like someone who inspired you and knew you front and back died for you to live your life to the fullest. Interesting. I know I'll love Michigan, too. What else is college-prep school for? Besides making my brain very expensive.

Anyone want to provide some comic relief?

Wow, that sounded so depressing. I know exactly what you mean. I just keep trying to tell myself that I'll see everyone during Thanksgiving. I'm definitely excited for Mich. It's a nervous excitement, I suppose. I'm ready for a new beginning.

i'm looking forward to the countless hours of studying.

trust me, if ur going back home for the summer, after 4 months, it'll feel like you were never in college in the first place. the school year is really short

i'm living at home and commuting (fun, no?) so i'm like... eehhh...

I just moved in! (International orientation) It's a blast here haha
I was chilling with my peer advisors down the hall

canada, what hall are you in? I moved in too...

Honestly, no. I have to pack all of my **** still and clean my (two) bedrooms out.

I wish I would have went to Oakland to start out with. I could have probably went for free and still lived at home, at my parents' food, etc. Would have saved a ton of money and wouldn't have to worry about washing my own clothes, etc.

After two years at Oakland I probably could have transfered to Michigan or maybe to Cornell (Visiting during accepted students week sold me, but too much $$$) Doing Michigan I would still graduate with quite a bit of savings left in my college fund. Doing Cornell I would probably wipe that money out, but no debt at least.

Oh well. At least I have football season tickets.

And is it even possible to move all of your **** in 30 minutes?

I think I'm going to have myself and my mother. Weight isn't a problem for me, but I can only care so many cubic feet of ****.

I have to haul in a tv, fridge, computer, books, clothes, etc. to the fifth floor. I don't think I'll get tired but it just seems that each load is going to take a couple of minutes to move.

Do they have dollys or flatbed carts available?

They have huge blue carts and people to help you.

how do you get these 'huge blue carts' up flights of stairs? -_-

elevators.

HauckT I'm 6th floor Alice Lloyd, you?

4th floor South Quad... I'm actually working there so I've been checking in people and I think I recognize people/names from this website...

I had lunch at south quad today . . . which was surprisingly good considering what I've heard about Michigan food

Elevators except for the godless hell-hole known as West Quad. Four floors, no elevators.

HauckT, I don't know if you have any influence over this working in the front desk, but if you can try and get some maintenance people to fix the elevators. The right one was nonfunctioning for most of the day (stuck on the 4th floor, I heard), and the left one takes about 7 seconds to close no matter how many times you hit "door close". They probably want to get that stuff dealt with before the masses move in Wednesday and Friday.
