I am filling the initial screening form out and I have a few strategy questions. They ask for school awards and then in a different section they ask for community awards. School awards you designate as local, state or national. Community awards have no designation. If I have received national service awards, would I be better off listing them under school awards so I can designate as national?

And even more technical (sorry) If I received a local school award each year for 4 years, or I received a state level award for only one year, which is better to list? The one state or the 4 years of local?

I'm not asking theoretically which is better, I want to know how Coke scores the initial app and which type of thing is scored with more points.

Is anyone familiar with how this application is scored? Thanks.

I'm applying too-if it is a school award it says to use the control button to say the highest honors you received each school year (ex: local-9 local-10 state-11 national-12)
Thats what I am doing for HOSA related stuff

For question 5 (what is the maximum number of leadership roles or extracurricular activities you may participate in during the school year?), my SCHOOL doesn't limit it, but as SGA president I'm not allowed to be pres of any other club. is there any way I could say this in the app? also where should I put athletics that are not school-related (I have a black belt in TKD)?

Anyone know when the semifinalists notification/list will be up? Says mid-late November on the website and the months almost up, so I was wondering if anyone has heard back yet.

How will I find out if my application advanced?
Only those students whose applications advance to the Semifinalist round are notified of their selection by mail in mid to late November. Applicants who do not receive written notification by the first week in January can assume their application did not advance A list of semifinalists will be posted on our website shortly after notification letters are sent.

found this under the tab selection process:

PHASE I. The first application seeks a record of the student's overall involvement in school and community affairs as well as academic success and employment. This application is due October 31 and culminates in the selection of 1,500 to 2,000 Semifinalists in December. Students may apply online via this site after Labor Day each academic year. Please see the FAQs or call 1-800-306-COKE with questions.

Under Apply Online, Welcome Center they say: In December we will designate 2000 finalists....

In the Program Brochure under Apply Online, it says : Semifinalists are notified of their selection in mid-December.

SO MORE INFO THAN YOU ASKED FOR (hahaha) but I go with a mid-December notification. Good Luck! By the way, I applied and haven't heard a thing either.

Congratulations! My daughter has her fingers crossed, hoping to get a letter --- although the way our mail carrier has been delivering mail to the wrong homes lately, it might not arrive even if she IS a semifinalist! Anyway, a girl from her school won a $20K scholarship 2 years ago. D has been coveting that ever since!
