I'm just wondering how elusive it is

I scored a 12 twice. A perfect essay score is not as uncommon as it seems; just use strong examples and defend them with coherent language. You'll do fine.

i got a 12 twice as well, i was just curious

did u guys write 2 full pages?

i did, both times

I did not; 1.5 pages both times, used 3 strong examples each time. I did hear the curve was quite the ***** tho. I got 70/80 MC and 12 essay which correlated to a 740.

i got a 70/80MC and an 8 on the essay and got a 670

i got an 8 once and im happy..

i got 8 twice!!!
!#(&%()!&@#$

I thought the second time around, it'd definitely be about 10+... i was SO confident too. ah..well.

i got an 8 the first time, filled both pages, and a 12 the second time, and filled both pages. Overall I thought my first essay was great, and I thought the second one sucked. So it goes to show that different readers have different perceptions of "quality" work.

I got a 12 on SAT I and a 12 on ACT. I don't know if there is a correlation though.

Essay isn't really worth much. I got a 9 last time with a 59/80 and got a 590. This time I got a 12 with a 59/80 again (YUCK) and got a 650. 3 points higher on the essay gained me about 60 points on the whole section. I also got a 12 on my ACT essay.

What format do you 12ers use?

anyone with a 12 wanna share their essay?

Not enough time of that . I'm left handed and write slow as . I got a 10.

i think the secret to writing the essay is to write something that the reader don't know about... like the Howaiian mayor :S i wrote about a chinese war hero twice and BSed, it wasn't even real, just used a foreign name: Do Den Cai, probably doesn't even exist, got 10 both times. and i never studied for the essay :)

That's hilarious Newbyreborn. I heard that essay scorers aren't allowed to penalize for incorrect facts, so you can definitely just make stuff up as long as it makes a good essay. That's what I'll be doing ;-).

or try to interest the reader. Remember, these graders have been reading essays for hours on end. I wrote about Office Space; the subject matter probably gave my reader a chuckle and as a result I got a 12

I can send mine from collegeboard.com (March creativity topic) if anyone wants to PM me...I wrote about WWII-- I decided going in I would either write about my term paper (WWII) or about Gatsby, the book we were reading in class at the time.
