got mine in the mail today as well (florida) Hispanic Female, nothing crazy, no sports, no art, no perfect GPA or scores…I just do what I love and am passionate about Congrats to all who got them as well! And to those of you who have not, 2/3 of people who get in don’t get them :)

Got one in the mail yesterday! White male from MA, 2310 SAT, ranked 2/177 in class. Above average ECs but nothing extraordinary.

I got one in the mail yesterday (CT) – so happy & surprised!!!

ffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu…

Congratulations to all
I suppose I’ll have to wait until April

Got mine today too! Female in TN…gosh, I just hope Dartmouth financial aid is good!

dartmouth covers 100% demonstrated need :)

Does your likely letter come with a financial aid package?

Nah, the financial aid package doesn’t come until the full admissions letter in late March, I believe.

Same question as Shrey228’s, but referring rather to applicants from other countries, not from the US? Anyone at all?

Vinny: Has anyone from the Midwest received a letter yet?

I know this is late, but my parents got my letter on Jan 31st. I am from Kansas City, I am not an URM, but I am a Marine who is currently in Afghanistan. 3.8 Unweighted GPA in High School, 2100 SAT.

With regards to Financial Aid, I then got an email on Feb 17th saying “Although the Admissions Committee is still deliberating, the Financial Aid Office is currently reviewing Class of 2016 documents. We want to ensure that when candidates are selected for admission, we will have sufficient information on file to make a financial aid decision.” I already got my likely letter, but didn’t even have all the Financial Aid stuff in (I didn’t know the CSS was required), so I am assuming it will all come with the official acceptance.

Funkmaster, Congratulations on your likely letter! Thank you for your service.

@Funkmaster

Yes, you are correct, once your “Official” acceptance package arrives it should have a brief overview of the Financial aid package(which should arrive seperately). Do not worry about you CSS being late as things like that happen and given where you are and what you’re doing I’m sure the FA dept will take that into consideration.

I too thank you and am glad there is something as positive as attending Dartmouth waiting for you when you get home. Semper Fi!

@FunkmasterFritz

Thank you for your service. And congratulations on your acceptance!

Thanks for the support everyone.

Yes, I got one too!

I was so surprised, and even my college counselor had never heard of a college that sends letters like these!

Since some people asked for stats…

ACT: 34
GPA: 4.53 (3.98 unweighted)
EC: art, volleyball, cartooning, tutoring program
Not recruited and have never attended a D program!

Really though, congrats everyone! My heart goes out to the person who cried as well while reading this letter…

Yup, got one in the mail last week! But since it came in a regular business envelope I was afraid it was a rejection letter or something so it was quite a relief to find out it was a likely letter haha. In all honesty though, I’m surprised that I got one since I didn’t have anything particularly outstanding. But in any case we can finally breathe again and FunkmasterFritz, thank you for your service and congrats on your acceptance!

Does anyone know if Dartmouth has issued their last batch of Likely Letters yet?

I wonder how many they sent… Tons of people I know got one.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

They send out ~500 likely letters

so if they send out 500… not including ed, about 20,000 apply. that makes rd likely letter recipients the top 2.5% of the applicant pool. thats very impressive- it has to bode well for all the other ivies, where one only needs to be the top ~6% to ~15% ?
