anyone get likely letters yet?

uh. yeah. the question above heh

I got a letter in the mail today. I thought it was either I likely letter or an early rejection letter. It turned out to be just some stupid letter telling me about making sure my email is correct.

Hah, exact same thing happened to me! I got all anxious opening the letter... and it's just the stupid username and password.

Did you get that letter as a well as an email with your username and password?

Yeah, I also got an email. I submitted my application Dec. 31 and all the other stuff Dec. 15. I got confirmation that my application was complete around January 20ish.

when does it even come?

I think end of February or at least mid-late Feb

i think they should be coming soon, if you look on the duke board, duke has already sent out 350

ahh this wait is terrible. and I think i will get depressed soon because I'll probably receive no letters...

join the club. i'm not counting on a letter. if i do get one, you'll know. check the obituaries. there it will read : died of an OD of shock and happiness.

Don't they send out a batch in early February?

thats what i thought, but apparently not since no one seems to have gotten one yet...

so they give out admission decisions in early feb?

No they do not give out admission decisions until april first (this year, late march). A likely letter states simply that your admission to Dartmouth is likely. The year my D received on it was about 3rd week in feb (1st wave).

1st wave? how many waves are there? and what are the chances of you not getting admitted following a likely letter?

I heard they send out the first likely letters Febuary 15th

unless you seriously fail, a likely letter basically means you are in.

3 waves of likely letters

when are the two other waves? If you don't get a letter, does that mean you have a very slim chance of getting in?

i thought likely letters were just for athletes???
