I didn't expect anything specifically for my dorm this christmas. On my list I put "Nothing I can't take with me to college" which left everything pretty much open. I surprised when I got a George Foreman grill and a microwave oven/griddle/coffee maker combo (HOT!) as well as sheets. So there are 3 things I don't have to worry about come july/august.

be careful, many schools dont allow george foreman grills or other appliances like that...make sure you check first!

i got 3 sweaters and some gloves for college because I dont own a single pair, and I live in south florida and am going to rhode island where it is cold from sept-april (or something like that lol). my mom also got me a big comfty fluffy really nice robe for those lovely communal showers i'll have to take ;) lol

Most schools don't allow appliances like George Foreman grills and hot plates (and sometimes even microwaves), but in practice that just means you have to put them away in your closet when not in use so you're not caught during inspections.

We don't really exchange gifts in our family but I just received a monogramed set of bath stuff. Theres two complete set of towels(dark chocolate brown with bright pink lettering), slippers, and the matching robe. The sheets should be arriving soon and they are along the same coloring.

I'm waiting on the laptop, printer, etc til I find out where I'm going...theres no point in purchasing if a school may want a specific type.
