I got a letter from the Dean of the college saying that I was one of the "particularly oustanding admitted students" that would make a great match... is this another admissions gimmick that all accepted students received? or is it true (because if it is, I'm excited because I'm actually leaning towards P)

I got it too… I think its probably generic. But still, you’re outstanding; to get into Princeton you have to be outstanding!

I didn’t get it…

mine was postmarked the 8th… and since you live in california, it might take a while to get there

My D hasn’t got it…yet. I guess she is just ‘outstanding’, not ‘particularly outstanding’ :)

Hey Lucy,

Are you definitely going to Princeton? I’m going to the 4/15 preview; i hope i’ll see you there.

im from the LA area, and i got that today as well. maybe it just staggers in the mail.

I’m in MA, and I just got one of those too.

I was wondering how many people actually got this letter.

Update: It appears from today’s mail that my D is also a ‘particularly’ outstanding student :)

Well, I was about to try to make you guys feel good by posting that I hadn’t received the letter. Unfortunately when I went to the mail box (just to be sure), I found out that I’m particularly outstanding as well.

aww darn. this smushed my hopes of having a late likely letter

Yes, I have.

i didn’t get a letter

although i did expect it as a 2120 SAT non-hooked ORM

I got one too… It’s starting to seem pretty generic hahahah
but, I’m going to Princeton anyway, so I just thought it was a nice touch. They also sent me their ENTIRE course catalog + all these random brochures and stuff, which was more exciting though.

Did the people who didn’t get the letter already accepted Princeton’s admission offer? I am just curious how they determine how someone is “particularly outstanding”.

I didn’t get one. I must not be outstanding.

for some reason, i thought it might be a thing for potential AB students. that, or people who haven’t said ‘yes’ yet. [i’m both]
