Good luck diehardcubsfan! Good luck majoringbio!

wait so they will be making more calls next week? is that how they notify you? ah gad!! oh god oh god. do they still contact you if they reject you?? i really want some closure

Yea I talked to the same lady and she said monday would be the day, but thats interesting that others have been notified already. I agree with wundershowzen. I just want some closure.

According to the NYT article just published, Pomona plans to take off 15-20 people off the wait-list. (see college admissions for article link) However this number could vary even more because of the large wait-list activity that is likely to happen at other top schools/ivy league.

here is the link

The fact that so many of the top Ivies – Harvard, Yale, Columbia – are going to go deep into their waitlists is going to send a small tidal wave through all the selective colleges. Students will withdraw their current acceptances. Even schools that weren't planning to go to their waitlists at all, like Stanford, will now need to. Pomona's plan to wrap things up by Monday may change.

dear pomona
please accept tons of transfers as well!!

I know someone who got off the waitlist. His stats were good enough to get into Berkeley as well the first time around. Full-ride at both, so he has a difficult decision to make.

sanjenferrer -
it's not even worth considering lol
tell him to go to pomona.... it's the BEST :)
THE BEST he can go as an undergrad..

I got into berkeley (i'm a transfer)
and if I get into pomona, I'm turning down berkeley in a heartbeat

Son got the phone call from Pomona this afternoon. In off the waitlist. Son was also going to Cal. Best of luck to those of you still waiting.

I'm curious. What happened if someone who previously accepted the offer from A school waitlist, later the B school gave the offer from waitlist as well, and he decide to go to the B school??

So I'm just going to assume that when they say Monday is the notification day, they mean thats when they will tell all those who didn't get off. I figure that if they don't call sometime this weekend then......:(

yeah saxman i feel you on that one. seriously. when they said march 31 was the notification date only rejections and waitlist letters were received that day everyone else got in earlier. though ive only heard of like 3 or 4 acceptances so far there's probably a lot more who just dont post online.

Remember last year there were posts of people getting off the waitlist in June. According to the NY Times article more waitlisted kids will be offered admission this year. I think that would suggest that things will remain fluid for awhile.

Yea I too have heard of people getting pulled off as late as June. Don't get me wrong, I'll wait til the cows come home for Pomona, but it's just been a crazy ordeal having every fiber of your being wrapped up in something. It would just be nice to know sooner than later. Best of luck to everyone though.

i talked to someone at admissions on the phone yesterday and she said they havent accepted anyone to the waitlist yet and that it is still too early

RBallard - is that really what she said?
There are people on this thread who got in off the waitlist.
If that's true, why would the admissions officer lie? hmm... that's weird...

This is the internet--not everything you read here is reliable either... Or the 'someone' in admissions may not have been an AO (it's pretty hard for me to imagine a small LAC AO not knowing whether or not such a decision has been made)...

i dunno thats just what she told me, maybe she was misinformed

Yea it's Monday. No email, snail mail, or telelphone call yet. What about everybody else?
