Anyone give up Cal for UCLA?

Simple yes or no question :)

I am. so yes for me!

yes, and a lot of other people do too.

I did, years ago. It's not all that uncommon.

who wouldn't? Berkeley is stronger in undergrad but the gap isn't that big. I didn't even apply to Berkeley since I don't take a liking to bums and trash.

holla!

i turned in my SIR last night. :D

I most likely will be giving up Cal for UCLA.

I didn't give up Cal for UCLA. I rejected Cal for UCLA. what now?!

helllllllllllllllllllllllls yeah.

UCLA>Cal forever....

I am still undecided, going to Welcome Day at UCLA this week and the Overnight at Cal next weekend.

Honestly I met so many people who were rejected by UCLA and accepted to Cal, so I'm wondering if maybe UCLA is getting a little more prestigious? :)

academically the two schools are more or less equal....its just a matter of the weight the name carries. i can tell you right now that ucla recieved far mroe applications than cal did...notice a trend?

i got rejected from cal...but now i'm really happy because if i'd gotten into cal my parents would have made me go there (and would have checked up on me every weekend), and now i get to go to ucla because that's the only option left...unless you consider davis. but bleh, i rejected them weeks ago.

yeah, cal got about 42000 applicants and ucla got 47000.

"i can tell you right now that ucla recieved far mroe applications than cal did..."

To be fair, UCLA received more applications because of its national appeal and its location, not necessarily academics.

UCLA is known around the country for its athletics too, which probably adds to its applications.

That being said, as a whole, UCLA>CAL in an instant.

THAT being said, there's a good chance I'm not going to UCLA next year haha. I'll always be a Bruin, though.

Where might you be going besides UCLA, jackieboy24?

I rejected Cal for UCLA :)
O man, it took a while for my relatives to get over it haha.

jackieboy's going to Stanford

I just rejected Cal this morning and sent in my SIR to UCLA 2 days ago. I need out of the Bay Area!

lol i live across the hills from cal...
so ucla, here i come!

"yeah, cal got about 42000 applicants and ucla got 47000."

Only because millions more live around the LA area than the Bay Area. People usually go to a university that is within 250 miles of their hometown.

Not uncommon at all.
