i'm going...

You are so lucky! That's the one thing I felt like I missed in high school! I worked for nine months on a research project and was so disappointed when I didn't place in the regional science fair! Anyway, the people from my school (the Math/Science Center in Big Rapids, MI) had a great time and met people from all over the world. It was in Phoenix that year and I think they went whitewater rafting. They didn't say much about the judging, so I assume it wasn't stressful or anything!

ISEF is for faggs

whats ISEF???

^ Google ♥s you [International Science and Engineering Fair]. :)

I didn't make it.

CONGRATS OP :)
I was gonna do regionals this year, but I didn't finish my project on time. :)

I'm going to the state competition, which in Florida is this Wednesday...
It sucks because I have to
(1) remake my poster board (because my old one was, according to a friend of mine, "the most disorganized poster he'd ever seen")
(2) give a presentation at group meeting tomorrow
(3) give a presentation to my linear algebra class on Tuesday

So I have like three presentation-type things to prepare this weekend...

At least I'm in Mathematics. Which is good because there are fewer entries :D

swim2daend: ISEF is that science fair thing you're required to do junior year if you're in MSE.

Hey fizix, what field of math is your project in, and would you mind if I pm-ed you with a couple questions? I'm into math, and I'm doing "math research" but it's more applying math to other fields, and I was wondering how you got started..

Yeah, so I'm using computer programs and mathematical models to model the spread of a selfish genetic element throughout a population. Which is basically just applying math to biology. It's not math per se, but what makes it Mathematics is the nature of the methodology.

You can PM me if you want, I'm not sure how helpful I'd be though :)

this is my 2nd year going to isef...my project is in physics

I'll be there-- Can't wait. I'm in behavioral sciences.

To CoolPhreak: Second year, impressive.

This thread is kind of dead, but I'm going too. This is my second my year also. I'm in microbiology.

I would suggest a CCers meetup while we're there, but it seems a little too weird to me.

yeah haha.....

o.O bump
(10 char)

lol, ill be there as well in mathematics

whos going hot air balloning in new mexico?
