do you have any recommendations of what to bring/not to bring for dorms, and any things we should do when we get there?

wow...ive been reading my previous posts and i dont make sense. sorry about all the typos and grammar mistakes.

i cant really say because i basically brought everything from home because i knew that i would be going back after a year, so i didnt want to leave anything behind.
however, lets see. its nice to have a refrigerator and store it up with stuff for the midnight munchies. i dont know where you are from...but i was coming from a tropical climate so when they said "bring a warm jacket...its going to be cold." it didnt really click in mind that time how cold its going to get. So bring a warm, thick jacket. ear muffs, scarf, mittens, nice shoes to walk on snow.

you know i bought a laptop and i really didnt use it while i was at lawrence...because there are computers everywhere. theres a computer room in each hall with printers...and i really thought that investing 1500 dollars in laptop was a waste because there really is no need to have your own computer. I guess it depends with people, however i recommend leaving your printer. why waste your money in ink when theres printers everywhere...i would rather use lawrence's ink.

oh yeah bring cups, silverware, and plates...you never know when you will use them.

do you know anything about music lessons at lawrence for non-music majors? i would like to take piano or guitar lessons... and how is the food there? and what do people do with their spare time in appleton? btw, i live in northwest wisconsin i know how the winters are :) , but i'm from southern california and i know what those first couple winters are like :)

i have no idea about music lessons for non-music majors. sorry.
i think the food is okay. i havent been to any other university in the US, so i cant really compare, but i think its edible. we got a new chef this year and ive heard from many upper classman, that the "downer" food has improved tremendously.

I am really happy today because I just (finally) got my AP scores. I got a 4 like I had hoped on Spanish language, and somehow got a 4 on Biology (and I was aiming for a 2! - weird.)

So, do you have any friends who were in Trever? I have read that it is really close knit. And I am really excited because my roommate is from Mexico.

mine is cooler he's from NEW mexico :) new>old

haha...I am just excited because I will hopefully NOT lose my Spanish. And I hope my roommate is cool!

alot of the international population last year were put into trever. i dont know about this year.
Maybe I will like living in Trever. The fact that it is on a quiet residential street also appeals to me.

what are all your majors? or intended majors as of right now?

Right now I'm thinkiing Philosophy and Math. However, I'm also interested in economics, religious studies, and psychology...heck I may even end up in physics or geology.

In short: no idea.

the weather is fantastic.

you're a sophomore?

you're W.J.K., right?

I'm staying in Plantz. My roomate is from Appleton which is perfect because thats what I requested. I can't wait to go to Wisconsin!! :D

Oh, to answer your question right now I am thinking about a BA in music, theater, linguistics, history, or Spanish for a major. I will probably end up with some sort of double major.

Can you tell me anything about Trever?

oooo i'm leaving tomorrow i'm so excited!

tomorrow? doesn't it start on the 12th or 14th?
