Anyone got kicked out of their housing offers?

Hey guys,

I got an email today that says my housing assignment has been changed to Sunset Village instead of Reiber Hall. I was among the first to turn in the housing contract and I have already paid my deposits for Rieber on time.

Did this happen to anyone else this year? Or has it happened to any students from past years? If I am dissatisfied with the new assignment, who can I address this issue to?

Thank you very much.

Though this may not be directly related, you may blame those who requested a change of room for selfish reasons.

i thought as much

Last year I was moved to Hedrick Summit from Rieber Hall. It was because housing overbooked Rieber, and it looks like they did it again this year. When they emailed me about this, they noted that the contract states that housing, not building/roommate/whatever choice is guaranteed.

At least it's nicer and it'll save you the trip up those rieber stairs. :D

Yeah I know a guy to whom this happened. He complained to the housing office and got his housing assignment changed. If you're really unsatisfied you could always try that.

It appears that there was a computer glitch yesterday with the website, so that may explain some of the housing placement confusion. You can log-in again to verify your housing.

yea...but i got an email saying that i was MOVED to Sunset...

i got the email from housing the day before the move-in info was released.

meh. sunset is better.

but that sucks i guess.

you guys prolly got moved cuz i terminated my housing contract and they needed to fill up space.

So what happens to the spot that's left once they move to your spot? Lack of space is more likely than excess of it.

hello, it was already packed to begin with, so they were probably like "oh, lets clear some space up cuz its not packed here since poor mojo unfortunately terminated his housing contract with mean ol' us :("
