Anyone gotten the second packet yet?

Yoel,

I guess it could go two ways. My parents came up with me before OA, did all the necessary shopping and such, and then left before OA began. I took care of all the arranging of furniture, etc. when I got back. It wasn't too bad; really all that I needed my parents for was the shopping part. On the other hand, if you want to arrive without your parents before OA and have them meet you when its over, that seems reasonable too. Just don't do the thing where your parents come up with you before OA and stay in Princeton until you're done. That's just expensive and impractical.

Oh, and everyone sign up for OA! I work for Outdoor Action, and I know that some people worked long and hard to push for the new financial aid deal. We're all really excited about it.

Oh I didn't think about shopping and such before OA...

I hope I won't need anything too major for my dorm room then, because it would be impractical for my parents to come twice.

Is it drastic to NOT do OA? It's not that I mind getting dirty or not showering...I lived in Honduras for two weeks with only one shower a week and I was completely fine, but I don't think I want to spend my last week camping. I know everybody says that it's a wonderful way to meet people, but my best friend is already going with me, and...I don't know. Is it horrible if I don't go?

I didn't go, and it wasn't any big deal. I mean, the first week it might be nice to already know a few people, but everyone is doing a million things and meeting a million people, and soon people form new groups of friends. So it's definitely not horrible.
