My daughter is thinking about going to Auburn majoring in Architecture . We would love to hear any feed back about that department or about the school . thank you

haleyj: I work for a large architectural firm. I don't know anyone who attended Auburn, but as a bit of information, a large group of the past 5 year new hires came straight out of Notre Dame. We are headquartered in Atlanta, and have 3 additional locations around the US.

Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, has a great school of architecture. Small, private liberal arts unlike Auburn which is a big state school. Not sure about architecture at Auburn. Auburn is about halfway between Montgomery and Atlanta. They have a new president fresh this summer.

Know nothing about architecture. My sister works for a large national publishing company in the college divison. She has called on colleges all over the country for many years. She recently told me after visiting Auburn that she was impressed with the campus but moreso by the friendly, outgoing, generally happy looking students that she met while on the campus.

A friend's daughter just graduated in May from the architecture program. I think she loved the school and the program and had several amazing internships and numerous job offers before graduation in May. Although I think she eventually wants to return closer to home, she's accepted the really, really prestigious offer in New York.

I graduated from Auburn in the early 1980's; can't tell you much about the ARCH program other than I remember that the lights in the arch building were NEVER turned off! Those students seemed to work all day and all night; they must have had far more stamina than I did at studying-HA! It's a great little southern campus in a small southern town with a big frat/sorority presence. Try to visit and esp try to sit in on some of those arch classes, if possible!
