@stencils I think the Gateway project was originally scheduled for completion May 2017. Now it is May 2019.
My kids enrolled several years ago. It was different back then; they had a new administration coming in and some things changed for the better, but I feel that the enrollment drive was not planned well as one of the attractions of Stevens is the small campus/student body.
Back then, you could be assured that you would get into the classes that you wanted. Even after everyone had chosen their courses, you could always find a spot or two at the last minute. Forget that now. Classes are packed and (imo) instructors are at their limits, capacity-wise. You may need to submit a special request to get into the class that you need for next semester.
I think that Stevens has some ambitious plans, but that they are forgetting about their customer, the paying student and his/her parents. People are not paying 60k plus to have their kids go to a school where they might have problems getting a certain class, or have to worry about housing every year.
I like Stevens but I think that parents of potential students need to realize that everything is not perfect there right now. You are paying a lot of money so go into it with your eyes open.
