My son likes Stevens but isn't 100% sure it is his first choice. In reading their ED agreement it states that it is only binding once a deposit has been made. Our thinking is to apply early decision so that he can compare other offers before the end of the year (other 3 schools are rolling so he should have responses by then.) The question is: Does anyone know if their merit scholarships are as generous with ED applicants? Anyone out there apply ED and get a reasonable $$ offer? Anyone get accepted ED and decide NOT to attend? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated!

My D changed her admission status at Stevens when she went for her interview. I never saw the Early Decision paperwork she had to sign because her father took her for the interview. Therfore I don’t know if the decision is binding upon deposit.

We were not happy with the original financial aid amounts and were able to get more $ - I don’t know if the fact that she is a female helped at all.

She is a sophmore there now and loves it. She received some grant $ this year that she did not get last year.

How exactly were you able to get more aid $$? By calling admissions and requesting it? And was it in the form of a Stevens scholarship/grant or was it a loan. Thanks for the response!

ps: we know the ED is binding at SIT when you make a deposit, otherwise would be applying regular to compare aid. :)

We called the admissions office and were given more scholarship $.
