I got kicked out of my high school and sent to the experimental continuation school that they housed across the street. I missed over 100 classes midway through my sophomore year and was blissfuly maintaining a 1.0 GPA. I graduated from continuation school six months early and spent a year being a drunken idiot and wasting away my trust fund before I went back to school. Fast-forward three semesters and I just received my first acceptance letter from a UC yesterday.

bump…

I dropped out during ninth grade and spent 10 months in a juvenile detention center. Got my GED and joined the coast guard. After the CG I went to CC and I now have a 3.95 GPA. Success is not complete yet as I am waiting to hear from Berkeley. St. Mary’s is my back up.

I have many friends who left high school, got their GED’s, and transferred to CAL from CCC. It is very common. They did have very high GPA’s and I suggest that anyone wanting to transfer to CAL maintain a high GPA—it is not that hard. Just do your homework people haha. good luck to all.

bump for those who made it to their goal this year.
