I need some advice.

Hello!

So I was wondering what my options are. I have screwed up, big time.

I realize that I now have to atone for the 3 years of not doing anything in high school. I have a 2.1 GPA. I have been told by a few people in the school that I have no chance of going to college. I am behind in math (I'm in Algebra 2 and I am a junior...and I am failing it).

I did summer sessions at UCLA last summer, and had no issues getting perfect grades in all of my classes (Math 101, Physics 10). It's the social aspect of high school that had absolutely killed me. While I was at UCLA, I met some awesome people that care more about having fun than having a clique popularity contest.

Anyways, would it be better to try to finish HS (I don't know if I can because of my credits), with my low GPA. Or should I just take the CHSPE and get the hell out. I have a highish SAT score (2240).

This would be to go to a CC... If I did that and did fine in a CC, would I be allowed to transfer if I have the CHSPE and not a diploma?

EDIT: This should have been in the UC section, if you're a mod please move it for me :)

I had taken and passed CHSPE before end of sophomore year. I had below 2.0 GPA and knew that no way in hell can I graduate. After getting out of high school, I spent 3 yrs at my ecc and now I have been admitted to all the UCs, including UCLA and Cal, that I applied to. You seem to be a bright person caught in the social web of high school. CHSPE and CC may be a wonderful option for you.

Once I take the chspe and I get an AA in college and I apply to a university outside of CA. Will they accept me, assuming I have a decent GPA

Considering your SATs, I think that’s very possible. Only reason I didn’t apply is that privates require SATs or ACTs and I had never taken them.

I took the CHSPE, went to CC, and am transferring to Davis in Fall. If you go to CC, no one will care about your high school record at all.
