Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

Sigh I have about a 3.0.I give up. I don’t think transfers will know this week however because waitlisted applicants are waiting fo an open spot already given to someone that hass been turned down. These people have until may 1st turn down their acceptance. My understanding is they are waitin to see how much they have based on how many people turned down admission. Sigh. I think I am just gonna stay at my cc. It may not be a university but I’m already in there and they don’t lie to me

I just checked my status and nothing Has changed.

Congratulations pieisawesome!! Those are awesome stats. I’m at a 3.3 for the same major, but hopefully they will let me in.

Two of my friends checked their status, and they got denied.

@marcgalera
were they transfer students?

@epak13
they are First Time Freshman.

I got denied. :frowning: 3.3 GPA 1690 SATs for Business Major. Looks like I’m going to cal state la

Geez, I’m sorry! Were you Tier 1? Guess I’m not getting in.

My status was changed from “Eligible for Consideration” to “Waitlist”. Ow. At least it’s a change.

guh i dont think they are even acknowledge tier one students as a priority anymore

so are we for sure going to find out if we get accepted or not before may1st? im a transfer student and i got accepted into sdsu and the last day to pay the enrollment there is may1st but i would much rather go to pomona if possible. it still says “eligible for consideration” for me.

First-time freshman here and after waiting months and months, I check BroncoDirect this afternoon, still Eligible for Conisderation. I check now and it’s “Denied, CSU Elig, Not Redirect”. That has got to be the most blunt rejection I have ever received. After months and months of being in the dark about news of status change, I find out way after my friends have been accepted. This is how they treat prospective freshmen? This is truly pathetic and if this is how they handle students who are “eligible for consideration”, I cannot imagine how little respect they have for us. Yes, you could call me somewhat “bitter”, but I’m sure that there are many others who are in my position who are not speaking out for themselves. Congratulations to those who are still being considered or those who were admitted, and congratulations to Cal Poly Pomona, you have just lost what respect I had for you.

I feel you. Same thing happened to me.

TRANSFERS, i talked to people at the school of agriculture and im not sure if its true for all schools but we wont find out probley till after may 1st. this is because our acceptance depends on other students rejecting their acceptance. A decision from those students isnt due till May 1st so obviously we wont know by Friday
thanks for the lie poly

So, was “Eligible for Consideration” not the same thing as the waitlist?

I called them up today and asked them for the definition of eligible for consideration. they said basically it just means you csu eligible. meaning what you self-reported on your application meets the csu admissions requirement. but because there are so little seats available, they cannot accommodate you at the moment. unless space frees up, then they will consider provisional admittance assuming you meet all your requirements prior transfer and give you the open seat.

did anyone here apply to Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo. I got admitted there early February and I am a transfer student. that was so early and its not only non-local, but out of county. during the time of wait, there was no online status for me to check on my admissions status. either yes or no through an email, in which they said i am conditionally admitted for fall. none of the eligible for consideration, under review, etc that kind of stuff to check. they are very organized, also sending emails of updates and alerting my of upcoming dates and to-do’s. …however, im in LA, I think would rather go Cal Poly Pomona because its closer and my expensive wouldn’t have to be so high versus moving to san lusi obispo.

I applied to CPSLO but got rejected for Environmental Engineering :frowning:

I’m still waiting for CPP for ME, just checked again and no change from “refferred to impacted plan”. sigh…

As much as I would be delighted with you coming here to Cal Poly Pomona, I’d suggest that if you have an offer from another college you TAKE IT! Cal Poly Pomona was caught with its pants down as they never expected these many students would actually apply. Fortunately they’ll have more people evaluating applications… next year. I know pretty useful, isn’t it? Well, let’s remember that CPP had never received the ridiculous amount of applications as it did this year ~35,000 where it was always been around 20k. Yes, some of you have gotten rejected or wait-listed and that truly sucks! But isn’t that what everyone seems to be in love with? Colleges that are “selective”. This year Cal Poly Pomona, LBSU and SDSU will have an admission rate in the 40% range making them as selective as the mid-tier UCs like Davis, Irvine or Santa Barbara. Cal Poly SLO on the other hand could even reach the high 20% admissions rate which would put it in the same league as Berkeley, UCSD or UCLA. So, it’s about time the CSUs get the respect they deserve. However, it’s sad that it comes at the expense of those who would have normally qualified in the past, but hey, be grateful that in the US at least there are other viable options.

Yeah, that’s the part that bugs me: the fact that I probably would’ve been accepted last year.

Got eligible for consideration. now it says Denied, CSU Eligible, Not Redirected‎. Meaning rejected. oh well. maybe next next year. haha. no prob.

Something to look forward to, for those majoring in a College of Business-related field, there will be a new building by the time you become a sophomore or a junior

Yeah, I know, they restrict admissions but spend $30 million in a brand new building! Sweet for those accepted. Anyways, good luck!
