I know this is the wrong spot for this but I figured most transfers will see it here. So has anyone heard? More specifically anyone hear from Cal Poly Pomona? Or anyone know when they're supposed to let us know? Their site says they'll start letting students know in January but I haven't gotten anything :/

They are still showing to not have received 3 of my transcripts when I mailed them way before the deadline. Other than Pomona though I got an acceptance into CSUN already.

Had you already sent your transcripts into CSUN and CCP? What’s your gpa/major? I’m super scared I’m not going to get in because I haven’t heard anything yet.

To be honest, CPP just doesn’t have their act together when it comes to filing everything that needs to be done and notifying students of their statuses. My brother goes there right now, but at the time when he was transferring, they didn’t even let him know he was admitted until July 6th…I also had a friend that applied there straight out of High School, and his acceptance letter didn’t even come in the mail until the day after SIR’s were due. CPP continues to be unhelpful to my brother every time he tries to communicate with the various components of the college…In either case, they probably just haven’t notified you of anything yet! Best of luck to you though!

@pokeprad- same here, it shows I still need to send in 2 transcripts, but I called last week and they said they got it…

Anywho, I’ve only been admitted to Fullerton so far, and that was back in November.

I was admitted to Fullerton in November as well, but I haven’t heard from Cal State Long Beach yet.

My friend had the same sort of communication problems with CPP last year that have been mentioned in this thread. He sent his transcripts, and they didn’t even open them until after decisions had already been made. He had to reapply this year. This time, he called them and made sure they had opened them and added them to his file.

got into CSU Eastbay & San Francisco State.

San Jose State on the 24th this month & San Diego State on March 1st

LOL at anyone that had to apply to a CSU as a back up.

P.S. Wrong forum

My sister heard from CSU long beach one or two weeks ago, I am not sure.

waiting on cal poly SLO… expecting decisions early-mid March?

@bruinsrule- I don’t think there’s anything wrong with applying at a CSU along with UCs. Some people like to keep their options open.

I got into San Fran State. I haven’t heard from SLO or Long Beach yet though…

^ lol you applied all over California…northern, central, and southern…any preference?

SF State is an awesome school in an awesome location.

social life at SDSU>UCSD

girls at SJSU>UCSD

infrastructure and area of CSU Eastbay is new and pretty secluded.

The first Hispanic Woman astronaut was a SDSU grad, Physics degree.

It’s a bachelors degree that is cheaper. If you want an advanced degree than you can apply some where more prestigious for your masters or professional degree.

If you don’t want to do research, I see no benefit of UC over Cal State unless you want a job where prestige matters, like IB banking. There are even schools with research programs across different campuses. San Diego State has combined research op’s with UCSD…

While there may be a limited number of justified reasons to apply to a CSU, on the whole generally there’s little if anything that any of the CSUs can offer on a scale to match the UCs. As far as location, academics, research, and career opportunities, the UCs match and surpass the CSUs almost undoubtedly. The main reason people like to keep their “options open” to apply to the CSUs even though they’ve set goals to transfer to a UC are for the desperate ego boost that comes in the minds of the uncertain as they wait for their UC decisions. If you have the confidence in your academic ability and were motivated and hard working in CC I don’t see why you would have to “keep your options open” when at the UC level there exists an unlimited number of options at the 9 UC campuses. However, if you’re unfocused in your goals, worried about your grades, or need that desperate sense of validation of “getting in” somewhere then I see why one would apply to a CSU.

Honestly, is there anyone here (which would be rather ironic in the UC forum) that applied to a CSU as their first choice…? …? …?

Case and point.

Nevertheless, the fact that there are this many people on this board that share such an unenviable disposition still doesn’t invalidate the fact that this is a completely inappropriate place for this topic. Once a mod sees it, it should be moved.

I’m highly perturbed by my responses being removed and leaving this others users. ban me if you need to.

BRUINSRULE, you really need to get a life. Working in the real world I’ve had the opportunity to hire UC, CSU, USC, grads and let me assure you, I’ve had really good and really bad employees from all of them . Generally, I’ve found that those who like to brag about how good they are because of where they went to school, are less productive than the graduate who spends less time talking and more time trying to excel . If you are lucky enough to attend a 4 year college/university be grateful and respect the choices others make . Good luck to all of you who are lucky enough to attend a UC, CSU, or any of the other many, many find colleges/universities.

Again, I see it’s not beyond you to completely dismiss something that you disagree with than to refute it with an argument that holds validity and conviction. When you’re ready to address my observations about choosing a CSU as a back up are incorrect thnn you’ll have somewhat rectified the malicious, personal attacks you’ve already made and have accused me for.

The most obvious difference here is that while a few of the post I’ve made in this thread may have been unpleasant in a general way to some of the posters that may have seen parallels in them, they were never at any point direct or specific in any way. You on the other hand had made repeated personal attack after personal attack out of frustration of a difference in opinion and have even attempted to authoriatively invalidate my basic right to free speech. Yes I may be “playing moderator”, however, your posts mirror a role closer to fascist tyrannical dictator.

P.S. I think you should look up the word “direct”, because you’re clearly unfamiliar with its mean. Whether a statement is direct or indirect is identifiable in subject and modification of the verb.

This is direct:
“Does anyone even know who you are outside of the internet? Do you have a lover? You seem lonely”

“Just mute yourself til April comes and report back with your UCLA admission status.”

And these while they are sentence fragments, are still direct because the pronoun is implied. Not to mention profane.
Just stxu and gtxo.
[You or you should] just shut the **** up. And [you or you should] just get the **** out.

This is completely indirect:
LOL at anyone that had to apply to a CSU as a back up.

P.S. I think it’s amazingly ironic that you’ve questioned whether or not I have a life outside of this forum or if any one knows me outside of the internet. “Do I have a lover?” “Do I seem lonely?” Those questions seem ironic. It appears as if you check this forum repeatedly throughout the day and retain a strong sense of validation over the persona you’ve established on this website. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that) It’s just that I wouldn’t think the epitome of someone that is social, desirable, and satisfied with themselves is someone that sits at a computer screen refreshing a college admissions forum throughout the day to reply to someone’s new post.

just ignore my posts and ill ignore yours.

that should be DIRECT enough for you. and you should leave this thread, no one seems to desire your input.
