Last year they waitlisted over 600 (almost twice the size of the class!!) and just over 300 accepted a place on the waitlist and they took 10. So, I don’t think that there is much chance that she will get in. But she has a full scholarship offer at another school which she was considering taking even if she had gotten in so financially anyway, I’m fine with this. WestPaND - your son’s first choice??

Not first choice kebhome, actually we screwed up on this. Haverford sent out early mailings to him last year about baseball and he didn’t respond because he was unfamiliar with the name. Hindsight being twenty/twenty. Found out from family members later how well respected the school and in his instance the pre-med program is. He got in late in the process so we’ll see. Baseball coach had contact with him about 2 months ago…said he looked like a competitive applicant academically and if accepted would have opportunity as a walkon. Number one school is Notre Dame, but Haverford would be a great fit for him with premed and a chance at playing baseball

WestPaND has the envelop sizing correct. Just got mine in the mail today!

I live about 30 min away from Haverford. They come in a bigger, white envelope. Think of a normal sized folder that can hold sheets of 8x11.5 paper without folding it, and that’s about the size they are.

Best of luck to everyone who’s still waiting for their decision!

So should envelopes arrive in the upstate NY area tomorrow? I would expect that to be the case, but knowing the USPS, who knows…

mandoman - i’m in upstate new york too – hope we get them tomorrow! good luck!

Congrats giraffee! That is awesome. We are waiting for son’s decision in Western PA. Thanks for the confirmation on mailing size. If you would - please post stats…and was Haverford your first choice? thanks again

he’s still at school and i certainly won’t open - but …

forgot to mention - we’re in central NJ - about 1.5 hours from Haverford.

Just got my acceptance! I’m in Frederick, MD.

For anyone else who’s gotten an acceptance letter - did yours have a hand written note at the bottom?

My son also got the big envelope today. He is also still at school with tennis practice after so it has not been opened yet. We live in West Virginia.

i got the envelope today and the hand-written note i live in new jersey.

Accepted!!

Got an e-mail, though, because I live in Costa Rica (even though I am not an international applicant). I had just checked my email like 2 minutes ago and there was no college mail, then, two minutes later, there was a message from Haverford titled “Haverford College Admission Decision.” I was apprehensive because I thought that if I were admitted there was a high probability that the title of the message would say so. However, when I opened it, the first word was “congratulations”!

I got the response by snail mail today.

To WestPaND:
Haverford isn’t my first choice, nor my last. Its somewhere in the middle, but it all comes down to everything else, including money and future visits. I’m not even close to deciding where I’m attending next year.

Stats:
SAT 1: 2190 (Superscore: 700, 790, 700)
SAT 2: 750 Physics, 800 Math 2, 790 Chem
Rank: Top 5% (20 out of about 520)
Extracurriculars: Cross Country & Track (4 years, 3 yrs varsity, captain), Science League, Business Competition, Small amounts of tutoring

Also, interview went fairly well, since I believe it makes a difference, especially to Haverford. I’d have to say I’m pretty lucky to have been accepted. The way these decisions are looking for many people, including myself, isn’t as stellar as hoped. But then again, that probably happens all the time. But still, very glad to have been picked, seeing as the difference between acceptance and denial isn’t usually too large (or too defined either).

Congrats to everyone else who has been accepted! :D
