anyone here appeal a p/np grade and win?

seems like too much of a hassle..2 page personal statement plus other documents, etc.

if only i had known that i would be getting an A+ in the class...only reason i p/nped was because i thought i wouldn't have the time to focus on this class, but my very not focusing on this class is what got me an A+...

^^ why does this never happen to me lol? how did not focusing get you an A+ and what class is this?

when i dont focus for a class, i seem to get Fs…lol…

it is a bio class haha (not like bio1a, but still, you need to study to be able to answer the questions). but yeah lol, this was strange…ah well, guess i learned my lesson not to p/np…

I have a friend who did but he needed to get a letter grade to graduate, and we all know Berkeley wants you to graduate asap, so they let him.

i didn’t know you can appeal. Can I still appeal a course from last semester?

You can always try; whether you have a good enough reason to stand a reasonably chance of it getting approved is another matter entirely.

It’s about as tough as Lakers trying to get CP3. Fuhrer Stern will shut you down.

I’m messing around. Study

@ankur: i don’t think you can from last semester. the deadline for this semester is this friday…so i doubt they would let you appeal a course from last semester. plus your reasons can’t be “i wanted to raise my gpa” or something similar…which sucks, because everyone wants to raise their GPA…

nah, i have a good and valid reason.

you do know that the deadline for last semester was the last day of finals last semester, right? just like the deadline for this semester is this friday, lol.

I do think you can request a retroactive P/NP to letter grade - my friend did his just a few weeks ago for a summer class. If your circumstances are really, really, really valid…

wow lmao. I totally get you though XD

with about half the student population at Cal being former grade whores who badgered teachers in HS to keep their GPA as high as possible, any sign at all that Cal will enable similar behavior would result in thousands of appeals each semester, given the sometimes capricious and often annoying way that tests are created and grading is done.

Anyone petition for p/np instead of letter grade at this point and win?

How about this for a reason?

I wasn’t aware that I had to take R1B for a letter grade for it to count . . . thank god that class also counts as a breadth . . T_T
