I have been rejected by UCB but I was thinking of appealing only because my seventh semester grades are soooo much better. I read on their site that they actually consider senior year grades included in the appeal. Is anyone else going to appeal to UCB or other UC schools?

My seventh semester grades:

AP Chem: A
AP Gov: A
Anatomy:A
Art History:A
Avid: A
AP English Lit: B

I am appealing to Berkeley, but I’m not expecting much. I’m in a similar situation because I got straight As my 7th semester (in mostly AP/IB classes). I think I’ll also attach a letter of recommendation from my favorite teacher as well as a new essay about a project I’ve worked on for the past few months (started after apps were do).

I’m thinking of appealing to UCB too. I got in UCLA and UCSD, among others, but really want to go to Cal.
I don’t really have anything “new” to list, just thought i’d reiterate my rigorous profile
Not sure how to do this. Anybody can help, please?

Im going to try appealing too. Haven’t really done to much. I became a math tutor but I don’t know what that’s worth. Got into UCSD but rly wanna go to the Bay Area. Sounds like a lot of us are appealing lol. best of luck to you all.

Wow, I’m just like you. A’s in all my senior classes except for AP Eng Lit which i got a B. Berkeley received my appeal three weeks ago and I’m still waiting for a response. I hope they hurry, i want to know before May.

My friend just got rejected via appeal. She had sent it in around the first week of April. She was waiting for an e-mail but I guess they don’t send one, so she just opened up her account. :P

Probably recently, but she just told me about it today. She wasn’t planning on checking her Berkeley account but hadn’t received confirmation via e-mail that they got her appeal so she went on the account to check and they had her decision.

I assume if you’re getting in, you won’t know until May 1st, right? Because that’s when they know who rejected them, etc.

“After careful re-evaluation of your application, we regret that we are unable to grant your appeal for admission as enrollment spaces for fall are extremely limited. Please note that appeals are now closed and no additional information will be considered. We wish you the best in your future college plans.”

Ah well, it’s expected. Waiting for UCSD now!

im sorry about berkeley leeganen. remember, there is a reason for everything. trust me on that one. I’m pretty sure you were meant to go somewhere else for a better purpose. I would not be suprised if you had an unexpected very succesful career. If you dont mind me asking, what was your new info?

hey did anyone who appeal around two weeks ago hear anything yet? and did anyone get accepted by appeal yet?
and good luck with ucsd leeganen! apparently ucsd lets you basically know exactly why you didn’t get in and how close you were to getting in… but i dont know if it would help now if you were to know that info. :/

I sent mine in on the 14th, and the site updated on the 17th. I haven’t heard anything from them yet since mine is in the last pile. Do they email you to tell you there is an update on myBerkeley or do you just have to check that site frequently?
